Why doesn't the same logic apply to dim wit Harry Browne when he opposes a war against terrorism? Or to liberaltarians that seek drug legalization when more than two-thirds of the nation opposes that moronic idea?

No, Christians must learn to fight back. Interesting response. What exactly do you have in mind?
When I said "learn how to deal with it," I did not mean we must supinely accept whatever happens. I was suggesting that we not waste time or energy wringing our hands because the world is awash in sin. We must be realistic about the state of the world. Learning to deal with it would include "fighting back" when that is appropriate.

"Harry Potter is teaching witchcraft is good and it goes against the teachings of Christ. You all need to get over it. You bow down to the one you serve and get what you deserve. As for the Christians I am sure we will do the same." Im a practicing Roman Catholic, I took my sons to see the Harry Potter movie, fully expecting to dislike its messages and meaning. I was pleasantly surprised. yes, there are references to the occult. But basically it was a story of how good triumphs over evil, and the meek Harry Potter overcomes adversity to triumph over his more well to do rivals. In fact, in one scene in the movie, Hagrid the caretaker is shown dragging a Christmas Tree into the school and the "ghosts" of the graduates of the school wander around singing Christmas carols. Hardly an anti-christian movie.

There are many who profess to be Christian but that does not make it so. For instance I hear many Roman Catholics profess to be Christian.

Let's not get started on which denomination does or does not qualify as Christian. If you refer to the dictionary, you will find that the first definition of "Christian" is someone "who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ." By that standard, Roman Catholics are Christians.

You are a perfect example of what is wrong with the "Christian" right. Everyone must believe exactly what you do, or otherwise they are not Christians. Typical fundie baptist wacko.
To: ProudAmericanConservative
Yes much like Jesus said either you believe what I say or your toast. Stupid Fundie Jesus.

Radical Islamists, fascists, socialists, communists, and other antireligious zealots are hostile toward faithful Christians of all denominations. Protestant or Catholic -- it does not matter. Is it too much to hope that you can stop slinging mud at each other and form a united front against the real enemies of your faith?
To: Logophile
I'm here to tell ya I'll defend to the death the right of my fellow americans to be Roman Catholic or Baptist or Methodist or any other "Christian" Religion. That is all.

Just exactly what does the Catholic Church doctrine state that is antithetical to Christ's teachings?
To: Logophile
I stand firmly by the side of my evangelical brothers and sisters in Christ. I apologize for the comment directed at Khepera, for it also insults those with whom I have much in common. Its is very hard for catholics on the other hand, because we get mixed messages from those in the evangelical protestant denominations. On one hand we are told, that evangelicals are our brothers and sisters in christ and we should stand with each other on the life issue and other issues where we share common goals. But then we are told by folks like Khepera, that we arent really "christians" and cant share the blessings of our faith with them.
