Ali To Explain War To Muslims
WENN | 12/21/01

Dec 21, 2001 (WENN via COMTEX) -- Former boxing heavyweight MUHAMMAD ALI is to appear in a short film telling the world that America's war on terrorism is not a war against Islam or Arabs.

The move was announced by JACK VALENTI, president of the MOTION PICTURE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, at a press conference yesterday (20DEC01).

The PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (PSA) will be the first production by Hollywood's 9-11 committee, formed after the 11 September (01) attacks on America, and will be translated into various languages for audiences in the Middle East, Pakistan and other Muslim countries.

Further PSAs - which will be made by cable TV channel STARZ! in conjunction with the ARAB AMERICAN INSTITUTE and Cleveland's BROKAW INC - will urge America to be tolerant toward Arab-Americans. They will be run on satellite and cable TV channels.

The video featuring sports legend Ali, who controversially converted to Islam in the early 1960s, should be available for distribution within the next couple of months. (KW/WNWCCB/CPT)

Great thinking. Maybe some alzheimers jokes on Ronald Reagan threads. Nothing but class.

Mister Role Model? Don't get me started!!!!! If he - Cassius Clay - hadn't converted to Islam in the first place we wouldn't be in such a mess. He was probably the most influential sports role model of his generation and that's how he pays back the U.S. - by turning away from the gospel to Islam. Look what followed: Lou Al Sindor became Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and ultimately half the inner city "gangsta's" took a Muslim name and rejected not only Christian values, but loyalty to America as well. The rest is, sad to say, history.

Cassius "Muhammed Ali" Clay ought to shut his big mouth, repent of his sins and spend the rest of his life undoing the awful damage he brought on the youth of this country.

You're right. If only Cassius Clay hadn't converted to Islam the World Trade Center towers would still be standing.

Any American who contributes to an accurate portrayal of our nation's intentions should have his contribution respected. Ali, as a past draft resistor and convert to the Nation of Islam is only helped in making such a communication by his past history. He sure isn't my cup of tea, but I see nothing here less than could be asked for from this fellow, sickened by chronic disease.

Ali, as a past draft resistor

That is the key. Ali was a draft resistor. He stood his ground and took the punishment. He did not run to Canada or Sweden. He was a draft resistor not a draft dodger. He lost more money because of his stand than most of us will ever see in our lives.

While I do not agree with his stand, I do admire him for accepting the consequences of his act. If he had gone in the Army, he never would have had to face combat in Viet Nam. He would have been assigned to Special Services and given boxing demonstrations for the brass. He could have had a soft job, kept his title and saved a lot of money. The difference between civil disobedience and terrorism is that the former is willing to accept the punishment because of his acts.

Ali cannot carry on a coherent conversation with a 10-year old. His brain is mush. How will anyone understand him?

Take a look at the recent Readers Digest article about Ali, especially the part that details his conversion to Islam.

He changed his name because "Clay" meant dirt, and that's the kind of name whitey's give to da black man. Instead his picks a name inspired by a slave trading Arab cult. The man is dumber than dirt.
