Save your pity for folks that don't harbor terrorists.

I also suspect the author didn't see the cheering of the Kabul residents when they were liberated by our B-52s' efforts.

Ref #3: I have not been in the military since 1968. Back then, the B52's flew so high you couldn't even see the damn things! Do they do low altitude fly-bys now? VERY FISHY or a very stupid reporter!

That's right - I forgot about that. OTOH, I don't think a 30-foot long prop-driven drone flying overhead at a max speed of about 100 mph is likely to be mistaken for a B-52 either ;)

Who the he$$ can say that the cited bomb actually exploded on site? I mean there should be lots of those things hanging around with numbers on them. Wouldn't be too hard to plant one. Wouldn't it be traceable by that? I don't say it didn't happen but a good journalist should check to see if his sources are lying. Of course they always assume the Pentagon lies. Just wondering.

You know, you shouldn't believe everything you read in The Independent. Any newspaper that publishes Robert Fisk (and his shrieking predictions of Northern Alliance massacres any....day....now) as a serious journalist needs to be viewed with some skepticism.

Something else the author didn't see apparently or he would have said so. Weeping women and children. Something is missing here and it the sad recounting of the women and children. It is entirely possible that they were evacuated and that the "village" was a garrison. They said 115 men, women and children were killed, but no one saw the bodies? Where were the mourners? They were all conveniently buried, I guess. The author was not afraid of his guides, only the Americans. This entire article smells of a set up for a gullible and credulous journalist.

regards

Depends on the mission profile. The nuclear penetration profile has changed in part from high altitude to one of low altitude penetrations. A friend of mine was a simulator troop at K.I. Sawyer and went for a ride-along, he said they never broke 500 feet during the entire mission profile, except for aerial refueling.

The BUFFs flying the iron bomb missions in Afghanistan are flying at high altitude (out of missile range) but they're still low enough to recognize, just by size and contrail.

Am I supposed to feel bad? Because if I am I don't.

Everytime I try to feel bad I wind up thinking about some kid in New York, Washington, etc. whose mother or father isn't coming home and hasn't yet been found.

The media won't show the airplanes hitting the WTC anymore so why should they show our bombs hitting their houses?

There was an artical the other day saying that a village was paid by al-qu'ida, 50 dollars per family to leave. Could this be the same village?

From your lead-in comments you appear to take this article at face value and either want or wish this were true.

Am I correct?

Just curious.

World WarII: London, Dresden, Berlin, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki.

Today: New York City, Washington, DC, Field of Death, PA

Innocent people die in war. Death of civilians is a by-product of WAR.
