"No, no matter how and when the votes came in, if the fix was in, it would have been put in place before the poles opened." Oh. OK. So the timing of returns provides no reason by itself to suspect fraud. I'm wondering what does then. You're reason for thinking there was fraud is that some guy on TV was still mad about how the county had handled the election, even though his candidate had just taken a slim lead?

Momma always said, "If you don't know, ask and you might learn". Of course, Momma never met you.

The basis for my belief that fraud was committed is constant reports all day of incidents of fraud and attempted fraud. I have spoken extensively to county employees who worked early voting. They reported hundreds if not thousands of black voters who did not live in the city attempted to vote early on the grounds that they were permitted to vote in city elections at their precincts (by corrupt 'rat poll workers) during the primary election a month ago. They were turned away from voting early, but many pledged to return on election day saying "my precinct judge will let me vote, since you won't" and many who were turned away were greeted by Brown campaign officials as they left early voting.

I also know for a fact that Brown intentionally campaigned to households outside of the city limits with phone calls and mail pieces urging them to vote (most likely, via a corrupt dem poll worker at their precinct). I know of several incidents where Brown workers campaigned inside the polling place, one incident where anti-sanchez literature was posted inside the polling place etc.

I also know of at least two incidents where elderly republican voters requested absentee ballots by mail with a form given to them by sanchez. In Texas, candidates are allowed to send elderly voters forms to vote absentee and accordingly, the candidate's name is often printed on the form's return address. These two elderly voters reported filling out the form and mailing it, only to have it return from the post office with "no such address" stamped on it. This was done even though the address on it was the Harris County Administration Building, the seat of the county government and elections department. But wait, it gets better. These same two voters recieved the returned application, and tried to send it again. It was returned a second time. And a third time. The reason it was returned became clear - the US Post Office was intentionally trying to prevent them from filing an application for a ballot, because they saw Sanchez's campaign as the person who sent out the form to those voters.

1) Never try to carry on an intelligent conversation with anyone who calls themself a libertarian. Think Bill Mahr.

2) Do you know what the racial makeup is at the post office. If you do then you shouldn't be surprised by a postal employee supporting Brown.

Your replying to wrong person. I dont particularly think there was a fix. All I'm saying is that, if indeed there was going to be one. It would have been put in place long before the poles opened. So the timing of the lead and who took the lead when wouldn't matter cause the outcome would have been assured. Again, I dont know and dont particularly care. I live in unincorporated Houston and was unable to vote for the office. But I have watched with interest and did watch last night as the results came in, I was simply relaying something I found odd, I did not put it forward as evidence of anything.

I thought it odd is all.

Alas I have no information here in Ohio, but, is there any chance of a "close election" recount? or an investigation into "late returns"? or even a scrutiny of the "eleigible voter" rolls? Inquiring minds want to know, and we are disappointed, and a bit suspicious...ALL Freepers, "forewarned is fore-armed" for 2002...!

What, specifically, is your point here with all these smarmy, condescending posts?

If you're taking the stock liberal position that black political machines are just darling little lambs as pure as the driven snow who don't routinely and unapologetically steal elections by pulling the late-turn-in trick and then shout "racism" if anyone raises questions about it, you're a frickin' ignoramus! I live in a majority-black town and have heard first-hand accounts of some of the most outrageous sh*t you've heard in your life at these black polling stations.

Does that explain every GOP loss? No, but give me a non-humorous argument that isn't a large-looming factor in close elections.

No argument there. I can't even spell. But I try to hang around people who know more than I do and learn what I can.

In Harris County, ALL precincts use the exact same voting system and procedures. There is also precedent from heavily black precincts committing fraud after the polls close. The most notorious case happened about 4 years ago when a republican poll watcher followed a the driver of a black precinct's ballot box from the location to the collection point less than 10 miles away. Instead of taking a direct route, the 'rat poll workers got onto Loop 610, a circular hub around the city of Houston, and travelled around it twice before pulling off at the astrodome to turn in their ballots. When it arrived there, the poll watcher reported a discrepancy in ballots. There were now approximately 100 more ballots cast than when the box left the polling place.

Lots of people call themselves libertarians then vote for Nader. A true libertarian would vote for a republican before Nader. So, don't try to argue with anyone who calls themself a libertarian. If their lips are moving they're lieing.

First of all the voting records need to be cleared up..Thanks to Clinton and the Democrats it's next to impossible to take dead, duplicate, moved, off the rolls. Also, no identification is necessary to register. I did it over the internet. I could do it 50 times and register 50 times. We should have one vote, one person and no possible to play with ballots. I have no good answer at this time.

doesn't sound like you're trying to learn anything. sounds like you just want to argue about something you admit to being ignorant about.

I've been following these mayoral threads with interest. Thanks for your efforts...I wish you luck. Do you happen to know if Sanchez is asking for a recount?

Racial makeup at the post office is all black. This was a big problem in the campaign. I saw boxes upon boxes full of sanchez literature that had been HAND ADDRESSED to known correct addresses. The post office returned almost every one of them.
