Where does, "Give unto Ceasar, that which is Ceasar's" come into the equation?

The Issue of Churches and tax exemption comes to mind.

Read Romans Chapter 13, This one is a hard one, for any tax hating conservative to swallow .

By quoting scripture I don't really intend to lay out an absolute conviction to anyone who does not agree with what, or how I happen to believe it applies to any particular subject.

Maybe I should have just left it at "Only God knows their hearts. But, then again this is Free Republic, and opinion is the order of the day here.

Sorry you find it disturbing.

This thing about being rich and being saved is something I, and many Americans have to deal with and try to find where we are in Gods true will.

I just know that a 5,000,000 dollor house is not what I desire nor do I feel that If I had that 5,000,000 bucks that, I would do as these people have done.

I do not think that it would please God.

Hay, wood and stubble.......that characterizes their "ministry". I hope the mansion has a large closet for her wigs and eyelashes! For years they would not submit to the audit that reputable ministries used. Shame on them!

"The Issue of Churches and tax exemption comes to mind."

Maybe...
I rather feel the meaning's to be derived otherwise?
Consider the Wisdom of God & His Holy Word specific to the subject.
God understands who *made* the coin to start; therefore, the coin never did belong to us to from the very onset?
I submit perhaps God wanted for no one to become too attached to something physical which never belonged to them to start? *Maybe*? ;^)

"By quoting scripture I don't really intend to lay out an absolute conviction to anyone who does not agree with what, or how I happen to believe it applies to any particular subject."

Be that as it may; you must remember you're posting a complex *thought* on the Internet complete with all the fault(s) of mere words?
Really rwr; all the reader has are your printed word(s).
The only real clue as to what's knockin' 'round in your head & heart. Right?

"Maybe I should have just left it at 'Only God knows their hearts."

Maybe; however, be advised I found [that] statement to be your Saving Grace.
'Lest I may have been a good-deal snippier?
...yea, He sure does work in strange ways; especially when He prevents me from making a bigger ass of myself than I already have? :^)

"But, then again this is Free Republic, and opinion is the order of the day here.

That's correct; & your opin counts every bit as much (or little) as my own. FWIW?

"Sorry you find it disturbing."

Please; don't be.
It's my indigenous state of mind; these days.

"This thing about being rich and being saved is something I, and many Americans have to deal with and try to find where we are in Gods true will."

Really now; you/me/us shouldn't have to struggle with this question, ever, a'tall.
The true answer lies in one's heart.
The only place He speaks to us as individulas; & never through the words of another mortal man.
*That's* where I have a problem with the two this thread discusses...see? (~Albeit my problem.)

"I just know that a 5,000,000 dollor house is not what I desire nor do I feel that If I had that 5,000,000 bucks that, I would do as these people have done."

...freedom; ain't America great?

"I do not think that it would please God."

Then by all means, let your conscious be your guide.

Nice speaking with you; have a great day. OK?

I agree, and I do only support my local congregation and the missions we support. TBN is not anyway connected to true Christianity -- it's a bunch of false preachers using religion to fatten their wallets.

I still wonder -- how many Social Security checks paid for that $5M house?
