We are all Americans. We all came from some place else. Most to escape religious persecution.

Look...we are on the same side of this battle so I don't want to argue with you. However, I am not real sure about your figures and I think you are overstating. I could be wrong about that however. I don't think we really know. I have no facts or figures to back up what I say. It is only what I have experienced first hand, read, observed. It could be that I am overstating my point to make a point. To be honest, it is hard for me to control my emotions on this subject.

Who are "moderate" Muslims?
Are they the owners of the convenient stores, the doctors walking down the hospital corridor, the NYC cab drivers, the friendly neighbors next door, one of your friends? They were cheering OBL and the terrorists. Anyone who cheered over 911 would be considered fringe Islam radicals, right? But, wait, these were just your nice Americans living and working with you. Who are the moderate Muslims? How can we identify them from the Muslims in America who support their brother Muslims although they are terrorists?

I think you should keep in mind that the ones who hate us are the most vocal; they get the media play. No, I don't believe the majority of Muslims hate Americans. Quite a few of them are American citizens.

Who, Muslims? Or the Taliban? Quite a sweeping statement you're making there if it's the former.

I just re-played this the other day, but this is what I get now.
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Thank you. I was trying very hard to be objective and fair about this. I have not known many Muslims in my life but have always enjoyed the ones I did know. When my friend turned on the USA he was brutal in his verbal attack. This attitude came out because of the 9-11 act of terror. I want all of us to be tolerant and understanding of those with different faiths and different ideas, however, when those ideas include the destruction of the country and people I love, well......! I just don't think that Americans can afford to be wrong about this.

Moderate muslims?
All the ones who immigrated from their country to escape religious persecution. Where their daughters could vote, drive a car and walk down the street without being covered head-to-toe. You know, a place where women are not placed on the same level as livestock.
Do you see or hear of Islamic militias drilling out in the Arizona desert? Islamic skinheads? New Black Panthers?
When a stupid man is doing something he is ashamed of, he always declares that it is his duty. - George Bernard Shaw (18561950), Anglo-Irish playwright, critic. Apollodorus, in Caesar and Cleopatra, act 3.

You can not be a Real American and a Muslim. Islam comes before everything with these people. They can have no loyalty to this country, when their loyalty is to Mecca half a world away.

Boy! Do I ever understand that. I am trying so hard to be kind and generous and not hate people just because. However, my other self seems to be winning!

Are you kidding? This isn't true! The ones who hate us the most are those who do not let their presence be known by loudly proclaiming their hatred for Americans. Sure, there are those that take a position against us and protest against us in other lands, but in America the ones who will protest against us probably have no real ties to terrorist organizations. The terrorists have been taught to assimilate and fit into our society.

OK, you probably don't know any Muslims, so you get your impressions from the Media. One question,
when the Media represents conservatives (you know, the vast right wing conspiracy) do you feel they're telling the truth as YOU know it about conservative? No?
Muslims I know personally love this country. Then again, the conservatives I know are nice friendly people too...

Did you all like how the point of this thread has come to light? Thank you very much. No really sit down. No applause needed. I was waiting for the Democratic Underground to start making their posts to prove my point of the ignorance that breeds and reads.

Last, but by no means least, courage--moral courage, the courage of one's convictions, the courage to see things through. The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It's the age-old struggle--the roar of the crowd on one side and the voice of your conscience on the other. - Douglas MacArthurThank you for calling me courageous. I knew I was, but didn't think you would admit it.

As to the hostility of American Muslims toward this country, how do you propose coming up with any reliable numbersHow many "American" Muslims have spoken out against this attack on America? I'm still waiting for these "good" people to respond. (oh yeah, they've only had a little over two months to think about it)
