I lived in a metro area in the US where something similar happened. A bunch of 7-11 types raped a retarded (or challenged if you're PC) girl. Six of the eight find it physically impossible to do this again. The other two got on a plane and left the country.

A British friend recently was speaking to me about this very thing. He sincerely believed one can't use excessive force to protect yourself, as if in the middle of a robbery, a rape, a murder even, one could gauge the opponent's strength, motive and determination.
