It just seems to me that the right wing has a bigger beef with the Clintons, Janet Reno, Lon Horouchi, the BATF, etc.

An American would go for the kill, not the terror factor. Why would an American want to terrorize his own countrymen? Why would an American waste his first anthrax "bullet" on the National Enquirer?

These terrorist attacks are a right winger's worst nightmare come true. It's only led to more government intrusion and the establishment of forces that will one day most likely turn against the militia groups. This was evident after the OKC bombing and the ensuing legislation.

The right wing has nothing to gain from this. And, if they were going to go to all this trouble to shoot themselves and the Constitution in the foot, I would think they wouldn't fool around. They would go after their worst enemies first with no warnings.

Whoever is doing this wants to destroy America, not destroy the destroyers of America.

I'm with you on the "informed foreign terrorist" idea...likely a "resident" of the U.S., but not informed quite enough! I'm curious about the attack on the "American Media Group" (or whoever are the Florida publishers of Nat'l Enquirer, etc.) VS. "American media" in general (which seemingly followed) AND, why an informed member of the "American hard right" would target the New York Post instead of the New York Times or the Washington Post!

It's, also, noteworthy that there have been simultaneous anthrax attacks in other countries that most Americans can't even find on a map. A newspaper in Pakistan received an anthrax letter, anthrax attacks in India, etc. I think this is international terrorism in response to a Muslim call to jihad and related to the anthrax attacks in the U.S.

I'm sorry to say this, but this looks like a domestic rightwing terrorist, or somebody who wants to blame the right wing.

I don't think this rules out Middle Eastern terrorists. I doubt that they are even aware of the differences in the parties here. They would simply pick out prominent names. Any major news personality regardless of political persuasion would be a potential target - the bigger the name the better. Daschle, being the top person in the Senate is an obvious choice and Leahy, being the new chair of the Judiciary Committee, is featured pretty heavily in the major media outlets.

To Osama and his minions all Americans are equally evil and the bigger the name the better the target.

I suspect that they will still find more letters once they have the opportunity to go through all of the mail that has been set aside.

Come on, everybody knows it's being sent by Terrry McAuliffe and the DNC!

Terry McAuliffe. UGH! That's one person I wouldn't mind smacking upside the head several times! He was on Hannity and Colmes the other night, and I nearly puked. He is sooooo disgusting, thinking he's cute when he's trying to be cute, but ending up looking like a narcisstic twerp! I don't know how Alan Colmes could even stand the jerk!

It's beginning to look more and more like whoever is sending these letters prefers conservatives to liberals and the Jihad doesn't distinguish between the 2 groups. I'm changing my vote to homegrown.

The only thing worse than a liberal is a liberal with no sense of humor.

Would you think it was funny if someone wrote something similar after an anthrax letter was sent to Ronald Reagan and opened by his wife?

Or it could be an Arab hater who wants to blame Arabs. Who in this country hates Arabs the most?

I guess it was only a matter of time before someone blamed the Jews for the anthrax letters.

I've received multiple email responses from America's Most Wanted indicating that my lead would be checked out, so let's hope for the best.

More importantly, have you called the FBI? You could be an American hero if right.

I'm not familiar with the incident(s) in India, but the ones in Pakistan turned out to be a hoax. They had tested positive with the very inaccurate field test, but the comprehensive tests proved positively that they were not anthrax.

We can't rule out anything yet. My personal preference would be that this could somehow be tied back to Iraq so that we could raise worldwide indignation for our upcoming action there.

But the evidence pointing there is very weak so far. Perhaps more will surface.

Look, concerning choice of targets, I'm as conservative as anyone, but questions have to be asked. If you went out on the street and asked 100 people 1) Who is the Senate majority leader? and 2) Who is the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee?, how many correct answers would you get? Five, if you're lucky? No, somebody who knows who's powerful has chosen these targets.

From that, you can infer what you wish. I wish I didn't have to infer what I'm inferring.

If Hillary gets one, it's one of two things: 1. She mailed it to herself so she can play martyr. 2. I'm mailing in my sleep.

In this age of hyper-paranoia exemplified by the Hartsfield Airport fiasco yesterday, one should be hyper-circumspect about making statements like this in humor, else risk visits by people who never smile. The saving grace is that there are thousands of others saying the same kind of stuff.

They should have been working 24/7 with THOUSANDS of people going through that sanitized mail to find more envelopeS with the Anthrax Perpetrator's block printing on it. I too am not pleased with the progress but yes I do believe they are doing the best they can. I too wish this could go faster and more progress was being made, but yes I do believe they are doing the best they can. But,"Thousands of people 24/7" - That is a very tall order. That mail posed no immediate threat to anyone. Do you personally get briefings on their progress in trying to find the perp. of this crime. You really don't know what progress they are making or not making. I too am not pleased with the progress but yes I do believe they are doing the best they can. I am really very disapointed with lots of the postings here. There seems to be alot of anti-american and anti everything the government is doing. Until it is proven to me they are outright lying, I for one, will listen and not comment until I know better. UNITED WE STAND.......DEVIDED WE FALL God Bless America

Black postal workers DIED due to the incompetent stupidity of the health officials, and my stating this truth does NOT mean that I am un-AMERICAN.

YOU take your garbage orders, and do NOT inflict them upon this very patriotic American.

Dont YOU ever dare to tell ME what to think.

If you don't have the knowledge or experience to understand that you have created a potentially severe legal problem for FR, nor the sense to realize it after having it pointing out to you, then good buy and good luck.

As my father said; never debate with fools, crazies or drunks... or waste the time trying to tell them apart.

To somehow attach terrorist connotations of radical social groups stimulated by Liberalism to the Party of Lincoln is to defy history itself.

I have a feeling the "Army of God" has real problems with the Party of Lincoln.

Consider the following quote, taken from an Army of God apologist website.

"The Army of God is committed to stopping the horrible warfare presently being waged against God's children in these presently united States of America."

Notice two things:

1) "united" (as in United States of America) is uncapitalized;

2) he refers to our nation as the "presently united States of America."

These are clear neo-confederate themes.

I'll bet this shill regards Ronald Reagan as a liberal.
