And I wonder what dear Dickie Gephardt, who appointed this piece of human excrement to that Homeland Security Committee, will do if Condidit baulks at complying with the subpoena?
How about it, Dick? Are you going to allow a guy who's been subpoenaed in a murder case to continue to sit on sensitive intel seats? Inquiring minds want to know, Dick.

Don't forget that the other man who can snap his fingers and have Condit removed from the Intel Committee and is subcommitteees such as Homeland Security . . is named Hastert.

You are correct that the article did not quote Condit directly. However, Condit's precise words do bear out the characterization in the article. Here's his communique to the House bearing his signature:
November 14, 2001.
Hon. DENNIS J. HASTERT,
Speaker, House of Representatives,
Washington, DC.
DEAR MR. SPEAKER: This is to formally notify you, pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, that my office has been served with a grand jury subpoena for documents issued by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
After consultation with the Office of General Counsel, I will make the determinations required by Rule VIII.
Sincerely,
Gary A. Condit,
Member of Congress.
___________________________________
In citing Rule VIII, the "determinations" to which Condit refers are whether or not the subpoena is lawful and the information being sought is relevant to the inquiry and does not abridge congressional privilege. In other words, a determination as to whether or or not he has to comply with the subpoena.

No, no, you're twisting that to mean what you want it to mean. Condit is required by House rules to inform that he received a subpoena. His statement was that he'll do what the House's "General Counsel" tells him to do as regards the requirements of House rules. Its undoubtedly a boilerplate statement. Construing it to mean he's trying to get away with something or put himself above the law is reading something into it that just isn't there.
I don't think anything more - anything important - will happen in this case until Chandra is found, do you?

"Who are you that is so wise in the ways of popular culture?" I am Sir Lobo, chronographer of the tales of Sir Brooks of Mel.
BTW, do you have any MORE pictures of Terri Garr????? (drool) All the young guys I work with think I'm nuts because I like Terri Garr, Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, Annie Potts, Bernadette Peters, etc. They all find these braindead supermodel types more to their liking.
You're not jealous of my affection of her after I've proclaimed my love of you are you? :)
