Abortion is legal - but immoral. Should it be illegal? Yes, because it violates the constitution. Unless you are suggesting that we do away with that societal guardrail too.

And what happened to "Every law has moral underpinnings"?

God Help this city council. Hopefully their Libertarians are a little more patriotic, intellectual and respectful of America than many of those we find here infecting FR like flees on the back of a dog.

Ad hominem attacks like that are so intellectual, kind of like you pretending the Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution forbids abortion.

Yes, every law does have moral underpinnings. Hence, we legislate some form of morality everyday. As to abortion, we legislated against morality.

In fact, in Roe v Wade the court said just the opposite. Are you the best they got?

If we legislate morality, then anything that is legal is, by definition, moral.

So you are willing to admit the truth now, instead of twisting it to fit you own contorted logic like when you attacked Ron Paul.

That's not at all what I said. However, I tire of the circular logic of libertines. It's deja vu all over again....

So there is no protection for life in our founding documents?

Remember, libertarians are america's backwash and its ranks are full of hypocrites. Self defense and defense of others is to be encourages except to save the life of the unborn. At least according to them.

The Fifth Amendment protects the individual from having his life taken by the State without due process of law, it has nothing to do with abortion.

Ron Paul is a congressional clown who voted against the ban on partial birth abortion. He's no friend of the unborn and no friend of America.

Yeah, on the abortion matter it always comes down to one argument for them. "I personally wouldn't have an abortion, but I wouldn't tell another what to do with their body." Of course, 150 years ago, LibtheGOP would have been standing in Georgia saying the same thing: "I personally wouldn't hang a black man from the tree, but I wouldn't tell another what to do with their property."

It's a twisted philosophy, to be sure.

I think Yogi was talking about the libertines when he mentioned if you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Great, then you'll support the Libertarian efforts to eliminate all societal guardrails.

I take it you subscribe to the notion of government being the architect of society.

Leave it to the Libertarians to always make huge jumps in logic (eg., not wanting to remove all societal guardrails = government is the architect of society).

This kind of thinking is the reason you folks are so ridiculous.

I didn't ask about the 5th amendment. I asked if there is any protection for life in our founding documents. But, never mind, I know your answer - I've heard it all before.
