At any rate, the black box is recovered and supposedly being examined right off. Waiting.....while fuming over baggage security and tarmac personel and why so many people heard an explosion the NTSB insists did not happen.

I think it exploded because of Bush's tax cuts.....that's what Hillary will say. And the lovely Chelsea will say that they will have no money to clean up the debris because of Bush's tax cuts. And BJ will say that we had been bad to the Dominicans...no...no...we were bad to the Irish..."Irish Need Not Apply"...that's it...that's why this plane exploded.

Instantaneous is inifinite distance per second. The speed of light doesn't come anywhere near that. Light takes approximately 10 milliseconds to travel 20 miles. From the point of view of evaluating eyewitness testimony,
that is so approximately instantaneously, or infinite speed if you prefer.

I never read CNN or believe CNN's words.
Others may discover why someday.

Depends on which engine you lose, and which direction you turn to correct. I believe it was a DC9 in the 70s that lost and engine (literally) and because of the side of the aircraft it was on, if the captain had turned the other direction he would have saved the ship.

An "explosion" is completely consistent with a mechanical failure which results in rupture of the fuselage of a commercial airline, followed by catastrophic failure of the fuselage (which resembles an explosion). Think of a commercial airline as a large egg with fragile wings hanging off the egg, powered by engines. That's how fragile a fuselage is. So the tin hats can retire, to fight another day.

I suppose the Dems are going to say that Bush had this plane blown-up to cover the report that he "stole the election."

That pesky centerline fuel tank again...Bob Orr on CBS mentioned this several times this morning.

From hearing what has been said off and on by FOX NEWS, there has been no one in the know who has said anything about a terrorist attack, bringing down this plane.
having done investigations for the military on incidents, I know that 50 different people will see 50 different things, and although some may have some similar sightings they will still differ in their accounts. So stingers be damned. I still say this was a mechanical failure!
As for being a Flatlander ... not hardly! But the air up where you're at may be affecting your judgement Nocturno.
All I tried to do at first was to stop people from becoming alarmist about the event this morning. Obviously you people enjoy it. No worries! You all look good in your tin-foil hats.
JoeFromCa, you are the only person who has responded to my posting that sounded halfway rational. Thanks! You were basically saying the same thing I had tried to say. Waaaaaaaaaay too many folks want to see "zips in the wire". Kinda reminds me of a kid whistling to get past the graveyard in the dark.
Bottom line is this folks ... you're gonna die someday anyway, so why raise your blood pressure about it? No one, except for Jesus Christ has beaten death yet ... and you guys ain't him!
Nocturno ... you say I'm not fit to fly that flag? Try this one on for size ...

I have the same problem--speak obviously tongue in cheek and people on this board take you so literally. Just like your screen name. Ignore it.

One entire wing came off and is in the bay.

An "explosion" is completely consistent with a mechanical failure which results in rupture of the fuselage of a commercial airline, followed by catastrophic failure of the fuselage (which resembles an explosion). It's also consistent with an explosion caused by an onboard bomb, or military ordinance. Look, noboby knows what caused the crash, OK? I'm just getting sick of the government deciding that every post-takeoff aviation catastrophe is due to "mechanical failure" before they even examine the wreckage and the flight recorders. And give the tin-hat rhetoric a rest---real Americans don't accept uncritically anything and everything a government official says, especially about something as strange as this happening when we're already in the throes of a national emergency.

The biggest conspiracy theorist I have ever known was my old man. As a thirty year career officer he spent three years of that duty assigned as the 'wide-receiver' to the prez's football. His responsibility was to relay to and from the prez all military info including launch codes if need be. A man in that position becomes privy to all kinds of interesting items, 95% of which you and I will never learn about.
Before his death about 12 years ago he did reveal some interesting things to me which justifies his perspectives on conspiracies.
For instance the Gulf of Tonkin Incident is not as we have been led to believe, yet all our historians might argue that point.
Not much in the way of politics was covered in that afternoon's 'deathbed' confessions; most of the conversation was much more personal in nature. However enough was shared about his insight that caused me to alert to the realities of information, disinformation, politics and wars.
I am no conspiracy theorist as defined by today's P/C crowd but I do question every news account, by whatever source, that is displayed.
With your experience in accident investigations you should also encompass in your philosophies that 'anything is possible'. After all, Murphy Rules. Accident investigators are chosen because of their abilities to think outside the box. Thinking outside the box requires one to ignore government spokesmen or the like. You must draw your own conclusions whether these conclusions see the light of day or not.
If you want a REAL challenge review the photographs of the Desert One (Eagle Claw Rescue Mission) and see if you can uncover the anomalies of the official reports. If you do I'd like to hear your conclusions.
