these people need some "market adjustment". those parents are just plain stupidNo argument here. Although I think the description more fitting would be .. propagandized (as opposed to "stupid")..
BTW, internet provided college curriculae should offer some alternatives to campus living; educating people without breaking the bank. A formidible potential competitor to the current academic monopolies, IMO

How can being a professor of linguistics make you an expert on anything except linguistics? The same way being a poster on FR makes you an "expert" at determining who is an expert. But its an interesting concept you bring up -- if only politicos and military men are to comment on political and military issues, then why have elections, or free expression?
