Darn, I always miss the fringe posts, but don't be too hard on lucretius. His phrasing is classic Muslim/Arabprop Tag Team, and he just needs to fine tune and tone down his personna intro a tad.
We are NOT doing that, convincing 'them', to date, imo. -- We haven't yet found a way to do it. And the old ways sure in hell don't work.

This entire war against Israel, the United States, the Western Idustrialized nations, is all about Islam. These fanatics, even the moderate ones, see Islam as a conquering force, they are commanded to take the world for their god by peace or by slaughter. For Israel to exist right there in the middle of Baal land means their god is losing, however we will face this war with Islam, eventually, Israel or no Israel. You can tell yourself the Muslims will be content to have the entire Mideast all to themselves and they will never spread past their borders, you would be wrong though.
From my Christian perspective it is very clear, the USofA founded itself on Christian, bible based principles, and God blessed us beyond anything that anyone in the world could have ever imagined. In fact all Western Christian nations have done well for themselves as compared to the rest of humanity.
Leave it to mans stupidity or vanity to ignore this fact and make it strictly a matter of luck or conquest. Ten million things could have gone wrong, the indians could have kicked us right back to Europe, Columbus could have been lost at sea along with the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Marie. Instead of the world wanting to imitate our form of government that granted the freedom to the individual to be different, to think his own way, and to actually keep most of what he made, they say we stole it, or owe it to the third world. I actually had an Muslim on FR tell me that we owe all our knowledge to them, it was theirs and we stole it. Try to be different, or think different in Afghanistan, an inventor would last about 15 mins in that environment.
God has said to Israel, I will bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you, I really don't feel like pushing our luck with 40,000,000 abortions to our credit, we are already on God's "deal with" list, and it wouldn't be wise to take that to the limit in my opinion.
Israeli citizens of Arab descent have the same rights as all Israeli citizens.
That will come as a surprise to the billions of people who take it for granted that "Judaeo-Christian" civilization means... well, Judaeo-Christian.
Make their own governments do it.
