Falls Church VA has a mom and pop store on Hillwood avenue where it's $1.21 a gallon, the lowest I've seen in Northern VA. It's $1.09 in Manassas, in Prince William County.
It should be cheaper still halfway between Richmond and Washington DC but I haven't been there for quite a while.

Bioman, welcome neighbor! The NorthCentral Indiana/Southwest Lower Michigan (Michiana) area has endured this dilemma for years. It still all comes back to distribution and taxation. In Hoosierland, we have the refineries that produce the gasoline and the awful smell you smell on your way to Chicago. From there it is sent to distribution terminals like the ones in South Bend and the one in Niles. Even though it is a similar distance from the refinery to the terminal, the trucks must cross a state line in order to get to Niles. This adds another layer of taxes. Bend over and feel the force of the government.
The TollRoad (80/90) also provides a convenient local market for the refinery and distributor which reduces their costs and they, in turn, pass that on ultimately to the consumer. The Niles terminal is geographically and politically excluded from that market and therefore has no savings to pass on to the consumer.
So, buy your gas and cigarettes and fireworks in Indiana. Just don't get caught. Just like we buy beer and wine on Sundays from Michigan.

$1.45-$1.54 is typical now for San Diego. $1.69 is the highest that I'm aware of for San Diego.

In WI RFG areas (in which I live, unfortunately) it's running $1.29 to $1.49. Outside the 5 county area (where the GOOD gas lives)one can take 10 to 20 cents off that.

I'm in Southeast Michigan and it's at $1.06 here. I was just up in Traverse City this weekend and that whole area was between $1.25-$1.36.

Notice that the price of gasoline DOES go down and DOES fluctuate significantly with supply and demand. Notice also that the price of those cars your state spits out NEVER goes down in price. The auto industry is the world's biggest price gouger.

You lucky, lucky people. Here in the S of France I'm paying $1 a LITRE. That's around $4.30 a US gallon. Think about it!
