These "senior officials" in the FBI are the Clinton holdovers who thwarted any investigation of actual ME terrorists in the US since '94. Bush's executive branch is loaded with Clinton holdovers. Every single one of them could have been forced into early retirement by now, or reassigned to other departments to get them out of the loop.

This maintenance of the status quo in the DoJ and other federal departments has been every bit as disappointing as Bush's cabinet choices.

Yes I'll agree there are radical anarchists, but doesn't look like their work!

Well what does their work look like? Bin Lauden's record is mass murder in the hundreds and thousands. 3 deaths is a terrorist mastermind? A truck bomb detonated on the Golden Gate would kill a butload more people and get bigger press around the world than this anthrax attack.

Media Report was: McVeigh's Ghost - Top Pentagon Officials Say Iraq Involved in OKC Bombing

Then, Clinton decided to blame it on those nasty people with guns. He was hot on gun control "big time" when this happened.
He even blamed Rush, remember?????Like Hillary did in NY !!!

Lets get one thing very clear from the get go:

When the threats are taken care of we should demand a return of civilized life, with civil garuantees protected!

This is war, we have to expect a different judicial process!

However, we will not be subjects to a higher authority that claims to supersede our constitution!

We will rebel if this is any end goal. IT is not the goal, nor will it ever be allowed to be the ex-post facto result of this historic change in regional powers.

I dont understand why you people are defending the terrorists. Do you feel guilty because you share the same politcal beliefs or what?

I think it has something to do with eight years of a government which freely used words like "terrorist" and "conspirator" and "hate group" to describe those who disagreed with it. This, of course, is in addition to describing Republicans -- the ones in Congress, for crying out loud -- as perfectly willing to kill old people and minorities.

After you've been labeled a "terrorist" for the "crime" of expressing an opinion which differs from that of the government, you start to wonder every time you hear the government use the word "terrorist" to describe American citizens. You wonder just what law-abiding group is going to be terrorized next, by the terrorists who wear "FBI" or "BATF" on their jackets.

I honestly don't think they are going down the wrong road. think about it. Does this fit the Bin-Ladin M.O.? Heres a guy who masterminded killing 6000 people in about 2 hours, and he's going to have Anthrax sent to only Liberal media commentators. Liberal head of the Senate and Liberal media newspapers? Please! You think Usama is a closet conservative?

What fits Bin Ladin's M.O. is driving us all crazy and scared .. hence the word "terrorist" .. and what better way to do it but thru the media .. They show their panic on TV which then makes the public panic .. oh and from what I hear they also have hit the conservatives also ...

Is it domestic?? .. could be .. but not from the right .. there are many sleepers right here in the USA .. how many muslims are in this country .. last I heard 8 Million .. I'm not saying they are all bad .. but all you need is a few .. to cause trouble .. alot of things that I have read just don't pass the smell test .. something else is up ..

No .. I think IMO .. the FBI is going down the wrong road here ... as I understand they need to investigate .. but they also need to look at the big picture .. that others may have done it ..

I expect a government wide wholesale cleanout!

In all branches, not just due to political affiliation though, for failure of people to do their duty!

The word "Clintonized" sends far more shivers down my spine than "anthrax" or "smallpox" ever could.

. Whether this is for reasons to do with the coalition, or military/intel preparedness is up in the air.

Clinton hated the military, and depleted it to almost null in favor of Socialist programs.
Maybe Bush wants to wait before he arrests the left wing extremists until the war is over.
Better deal with the left wing anarchists later.
He's too busy right now.

Neither McVeigh nor Nichols was ever a member of any militia. If you say they were, you're repeating Dan Rather's BS.

Both McViegh and Nichols were members of the Michigan Militia, that is a fact that even THEY admit! McVeigh was thought to extreme for them and was booted out!

In a move reminiscent of the botched FBI investigations of the Clinton era, the bureau is actively pursuing weak leads suggesting "right-wing hate groups" are involved in the recent wave of anthrax attacks on the U.S.

Newsmax.Com has increasingly become as myopic and irrelevant as Salon and WorldNetDaily. They are patently unable to follow the dictum "we report, you decide."

In the end I think that it will be shown that there has been very credible evidence to suggest these "attacks" were domestic, and that's why the FBI pursued these leads. But for the little-minds at Newsmax--a place I used to enjoy going for "another take" on the days' news--anyone who DARES to criticize "right wing hate groups" is Bill Clinton all over again.

Never mind that very few true conservatives, FReepers for example, would find the stated agendas of such groups to be acceptable. Even the defense of Tim McVeigh has always run to "he didn't do it alone, he was set up." Very few have tried to defend his expressed beliefs, or rationalize his actions (as some on the Left are prone to do their own extremists).

But Newsmax is going to ignore that, and shoot the messenger.

I predict a short life span for Newsmax, if this keeps up.

I've lost all confidence in the FBI. I hoped things would change after Clinton left. This is the first big challenge for the new director. So far, he is not showing that he is up to the job.

I have, too ... This failure to purge the FBI (and other agencies!) of the "sleepers" persuing Clinton's agenda, will be the main reason G.W. Bush is destined to become a one-term president - despite the current poll numbers.
