I don't buy the OKC story any more. I think the FBI under Clinton adopted a policy of "protecting" the public from what was known middle eastern terrorism. And this is more such "protection". I just don't think there is or ever has been a "right wing hate group" that would send anthrax letters praising Allah. Bush has to decide if he is going to differentiate himself from Clinton.Surely this is a joke. Obviously Clinton made a lot of screwups on his own. But people on these boards insisted for years that Louis Freeh wore a white hat at the FBI and kept it independent from Clinton. Now it is Clinton's FBI? Even months after Freeh left and Bush's own man took over? How long are we going to hear this excuse that every bad decision is because of Clinton? Maybe Bush's people should learn that old saying of Truman's: "the buck stops here."
The FBI has been proven more than once to be incompetent and evil. They are proceeding in the same manner as usual.
Of course there really are real right wing hate groups. Their memberships are so small as to be laughable. I do know that at one time the FBI had more agents investigating the KKK than there were KKK members.
Take it from a subject of the Peoples Republic of New York, Pataki is a tax and spend, East Coast Establishment, David Rockefeller luvin, gun grabbin RINO.
Clinton policy attack on WTC, Clinton energy shortages bound to get worse, Clinton moral decline, Clinton failing schools wanting more cash, left wing protests, homosexuals taking up house time, Clinton recession getting worse by the day ....you name it. He's very busy!
I'm sure he's doing the best he can.
Do you suggest a tax increase to pay for new goverment program to take care of all these things so he can dance before a camera or a microphone?
Clinton almost killed us, and you're worried about Bush not making you comfy cozie?
But I think it is quite likely that there has been more middle eastern involvement in terrorism here than the public has been led to believe, and I don't think the FBI's tactics have changed recently.
(Washington, D.C.) Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, has concluded, based on the below evidence, that the government is lying to the American people about the severity of the anthrax crisis.
First, the Associated Press reported yesterday that, (a)t least some White House personnel were given Cipro six weeks ago. White House officials wont discuss who might be receiving the anthrax-treating antibiotic now. On the night of the September 11 attacks, the White House Medical Office dispensed Cipro to staff accompanying Vice President Dick Cheney as he was secreted off to the safety of Camp David, and told them it was a precaution, according to one person directly involved. This shows that The White House knew of the anthrax attacks much sooner than admitted. See White House Mail Machine Has Anthrax, Associated Press, October 23, 2001.
Second, when asked yesterday if he had been tested for anthrax, President George W. Bush refused to answer on two occasions. Id. This buttresses the conclusion that The White House has known of the full extent of the problem for some time, but will not discuss it with the American people.
The report savaged the FBI for total incompetence, as well as some things which bordered on criminal misconduct. The federal judge in the case even cited the FBI "crime lab" for contempt of court, they were so incompetent - losing evidence, missing deadlines, leaving blood samples out on the breakroom counter for weeks, etc.
There was never any punishment, of course.
But now, these same incompetents have just been rewarded with an unlimited budget and unlimited powers to "stamp out evil".
I think the country is going to regret it in a few years.
The House of Representatives and the White House have been hit too.
Conservatives have long complained that liberals dominate the national news media. The reason liberals are getting hit is because they are the most prominent figures in the media. If you're Mohammed Q. Terrorist, who are you going to send an anthrax letter to? Tom Brokaw (who's on TV) or that Rush Limbaugh guy, who talks on AM radio?
For years, the Big Media has been denying that they're liberal. But now that they're being targeted with anthrax letters, all of a sudden they start asking, "How come only liberals are being hit?" Well, I thought Tom Brokaw wasn't liberal. Are we admitting that he is?
Have these people EVER won a case? The Clintons still walk free.
So much for that.
I believe the word you're groping for is "politicized."
God help this nation with the fbi as the investigative arm we need to rely upon, they are, if it is possible, even less trustworthy than the nightly news with petey jennings.
