When they face a crowd of patriots angry at their actions, I suppose this group of leftist students will expect the full protection of the law of a country they despise.

to the point where the media has NO CHOICE but to listen to what WE have to say for a change!!!!

Welcome. You are not only new here you must be new to conservativism in general. The media (with limited exceptions) hates conservatives. They will never listen to what WE have to say. Ever.

I've thought this thing through. Two wrongs don't make a right. So, for me to assault some maggot for flag-burning would make me a felon, leaving him both "right" (Supreme Court ruling making flag-burning free speech) and richer (he could sue and win), while leaving me "wrong" and poorer. There's no point.

Try this instead: get a bullhorn, let him light the flag, then through the bullhorn begin -- "Ladies and gentlemen, here we have an act of proper patriotism. You see, proper flag protocol states that if the flag has been soiled, it should be disposed of by burning. Well, this piece of human filth has just touched our precious flag, rendering it soiled. So, what he is doing is a supreme act of respect and patriotism. So, thanks, maggot!"

"... as many as 10 demonstrators doused two flags with lighter fluid and set them on fire."

Where I come from, I'm proud to say that actions such as these are deemed by the Surgeon General to "seriously endanger your health and possibly shorten your lifespan".

What do I care what a bunch of idiots in New England do? They only oppose the US govt interfearing in the lives of foreigners. I oppose the US govt interfearing in the lives of anyone, including my fellow Americans. They distrust Washington to run foreign policy, but think it magically can run domestic policy (Washington can't be trusted to tell people south of the Rio Grande what to do, for example, but can be trusted to order around those of us north of it).

I distrust Washington to run any policy, 'cause Ted Kennedy and Orrin Hatch are the same lying scum in either case (foreign or domestic policy).

If I were the 911 operator that got that call, I'd try to make sure it got "lost in the shuffle."

I was thinking about a fire extinguisher filled with gasoline.

If I'm in a forgiving mood, maybe just filled with tobasco sauce.

I'd like ot offer several suggestions to those participating in rallys...

I think it is time to return the favor: burn a few flags of the enemy - the Taliban, for one...

If there are children anyone under 18 int he vicinity, call 911 and report an incident of child endangerment; one never knows when fire will get out of hand;

If the town/city has requirements for outside burning - permits needed - call and report it to the fire department.

Make these contemptible delinquents pay fines for abusing the free speech rights of others.

How about filling the balloons with soapy water, it might be the closest those worthless individuals ever get to a bath.

This makes me sick as well, but they have the constitutional right to do it. However, these children should realize this: the spirit that made this country great is awakening fast. The silent hard working Americans that were uninterested in politics, because they were too busy raising kids to send them to college, and working to keep the American dream, have been attacked by an evil preditor that seeks the destruction of all Americans and the institutions that we hold dear and sacred. This vast majority have shifted into "Patriot" mode, and they won't put up with the tyranny that this bunch spews.

This is going to be a long war! These people that keep this kind of thing up shouldn't be surprized when a BIG, hard hatted, construction worker, with a tool belt and his butt crack showing 2 inches above his jean waist, comes up and knocks the living stuffing right out of him. No harsh words, no warning, just a thunderous right hand straight in the face, accompanied by a strong warning, while he wallows cowering on the ground, "You do that again and I'll really kick your a$$...son!"

Note to anti-American students: There will also be a cop near by that will be willing to swear that you just slipped and fell.

A friend of mine once ended up with a huge carton of little bars of soap. We walked around the university district and handed them out to panhandling hippies. We got some great looks when they saw what had been placed in their outstretched hand.

My usual reply to a request for spare change is, "Only if you'll spend it on soap!"

link to Hampshire College

Daniel Griffin is a student here. The web site has a student directory lookup function. Also, the college switchboard can connect callers to students.

By the way, maybe they're feeling the heat. The president of the college has a statement about the protest. statement by president of college
