My case is not over, but progress is being made on a weekly basis. I was forced to file a Chapter 13 in order to keep the thugs from arresting and murdering me. This has turned out to be a good thing since I can remove all my cases to Bankruptcy Court and literally force my creditors to help me get the judgment. There are some other strategies that I am using as well that wil reult in having the judgment most likely by the middle of November. Part of the case is on appeal/petition for a writ of mandamus with the 9th Circuit. The trial court judge tried to dismiss my case for lack of subject matter jurisdiction after I accused him of committing 4 RICO predicate acts. LOL.

I will prevail, of that there is no doubt. The BK judge has demonstrated in the past that he is not going to cover up criminal acts when they are pointed out to him and he is informed in no uncertain terms that if he does not do "the right thing", he will also become a defendant. The bankruptcy trustee and her in-house attorney are very nervous; and possibly, scared sh!tless. I told them if they do not help get the $1.2 million judgment, they will be committing bankruptcy fraud. The look on their faces was priceless, because they have no doubt I would name them in an adversarial proceeding.

I haven't been posting much about the case because the thugs are monitering my activities at FreeRepublic. In fact, about 75 pages of some of my past posts and replys are part of the court record. They done messed with the wrong boy this time.

I did not mean to imply that the 5.56 round was unstable; just not as stable as a 7.62 round. This goes to the question of how stable is "stable", and whether better stability is always a good thing in every situation. You are somewhat correct in implying that the 5.56 round distorts much more on impact, causing more energy to be released upon impact than a 7.62 round which is more likely to pass through the target and causing must less damage.

what bullet diameter is best for an unmodified mini-30. .308 or .311?

Don't take this as a definitive answer, but I'd strongly suggest sticking with the .308 bullets for any "30 cal." weapon.

Use the .311 bullets only in "303" rifles, generally Enfields.

>> i feel that all cops should carry .41 or .44 magnums & full auto weapons to fight the likes of the 2 moron bank robbers in L.A.

The cops weren't the first, or the only ones, in danger. If the tellers and customers at that bank had been allowed to exercise their second amendment rights, the greatest danger the officers might have faced, would be paper cuts while tagging the bodies, and filling out their reports.

Winchester changed the name from "Black Talon" to "Ranger" (SXT), to suck up to the Brady Bunch. My box says "law enforcement only", but that's not a "law", it's just Winchester's sales policy.

For human targets at 500 meters or less the 5.56mm (.223 cal) and .357, 158 gr. CJH (with a 'cross' cut on the bullet) at close quarters.

The NATO 5.56mm tends to 'run' and create havoc. The .357 158 gr. CJH tends to knock a perp down no matter where you hit him (and probably won't go through a wall afterwards).

5.56mm

Re 308 and 311. I used to own a Mini 30 and I was concerned about this as well. I wrote Ruger and they replied that neither bullet diameter would adversely affect the rifle but that there might be an effect on accuracy. Any effect would depend upon the rifle, IOW, see what shoots best in your rifle.

Probably about 30 bpm. He mentions that competitive shooting, although not equivalent to a gunfight, does provide beneficial "deal with stress" experience. FReegards

"I own and have shot some of both. It seems to shoot just fine. You have to know if the particular ammo uses Berdan or Boxer primers - Berdan is corrosive, and you must clean the barrel with soap and water after shooting it."

Berdan may or may not be corrosive. Boxer may or may not be corrosive. Whether a primer is boxer or berdan depends only upon it's construction. A berdan primer has two small horns that fit into two small holes in the shell case. A boxer primed case has only one hole in the center of the case. Boxer primers are readily reloadable. Berdan primed cases require special tools and are not usually worth the trouble. If you look inside the mouth of the case (and this may require a small flashlight) you will see either a single primer hole (boxer) or two holes offset from the center (berdan). Whether the ammunition is corrosive or not depends upon the explosive material that is used to make the primer and not the type of the primer.

Last time at the range I found about 300 rds of 308. I was thinking of scrounging it until I noticed it was berdan.

I'm just citing from memory, what I read in that report. I thought I had it bookmarked, but I guess not. It was a very interesting and informative piece. It had numerous drawings and diagrams of various wound channels.

If I get a chance, I'll search the AR15.com archives for the thread that had the link to it.

Wounded guys require medics, medevacs, surgery, physical therapy and rehabilitation

Which is just fine if your plan is to have a static FLOT.
An offensive military like ours, that is advancing will end up
taking care of those wounded enemy.

308 Is your most generally useful rifle calibre. It is inherently accurate and efficient, it can kill just about anything, certainly anything which walks in North America, you can still buy surplus fmj 308 ammo very cheap and that's likely to stay that way even with military rifles now being 223 because NATO machineguns are mainly 308.

If you work hard enough at it like building a very light, short-barreled bolt action, you can get serious recoil from a 308, but 308 recoil in semiauto rifles is generally negligable.

If I could only have one rifle, it would probably be the Kalashnikov Vepr II in 308. Those run about $500.

Okay, so it's time to make this thread silly. Well, in honor of BirdMan Weapon Systems coming back online here's a great item to ensure you don't run out of ammo during even the most heated home defense situation!

Thanks for correcting my primer misinformation. I was just parroting stuff I have read. I have never actually done any reloading.
