Would the current Moderator please explain your recent actions concerning Daschle threads? The AP article posted above had been deleted 2 times. Why? Why are so many comments being deleted? Is this a glitch or intentional?

FNC reported this.
Tom, you may be a Dashole, but this was wrong, and whoever did it, needs to get an Anthrax enema.

It's annoying, too, because then you can't reply to the person who posted the thread, without doing some tweakage of the post URL.

The president made his comments after a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi Glad to hear this. Hopefully Mr. Berlusconi reinterated his insistence in the superior nature of our civilization. I'm tired of the implication that Islamic civilization is somehow equally valid.

We have had no less that 10 articles regarding Daschle and anthrax. In order to keep breakings news from becoming one topic, we have to remove the duplicates. We generally save the first post and remove the rest. Many were posting the same article at the same time, and we do our best to remove redundancy. In this case, all the articles came in within a couple minutes. We restored the ones that were inadvertently removed.
Please check when posting articles to see if it wasn't posted already.

I just posted a news report from Yahoo about intensified bombings in Kabul, and it got pulled. It was not inflamatory. It was not a duplicate.
It seems like there's a bunch of moderators around here with too much time on their hands.

I don't do non-dairy creamer.
It's strictly Bitter Almond fresh ground beans for my Java. ;-)

It seems like there's a bunch of moderators around here with too much time on their hands. I'll second that. I got a thread pulled this weekend for the first time ever... Not a sourced news article, but it was in Opinions/questions, conformed to guidelines, and was not some dumb "I saw somebody dumping bagels on the highway" thing.

Just a supposition. Do you think this anthrax scare could be the work of real "right-wing" extremists?
I thought about this after seeing the news of the letter addressed to Tom Brokaw. Now, in addition to this news (Daschle), apparently Schumer/Hillary letters also? If not, it will become a possible angle for the media.

I understand the removal of duplicate posts, but not the removal of different articles about the same topic.
One of the primary functions of this website has traditionally been to expose and comment upon the leftist spin that the media puts on topics. When different articles about the same subject are deleted, we are unable to continue that mission.

Daschle is a friggin idiot but he doesn't deserve to die from anthrax. Maybe he will become a conservative in a fit of contriteness.

Do you think this anthrax scare could be the work of real "right-wing" extremists? As opposed to fake "right-wing" extremists?
The bottom line is that no one knows for sure where it's coming from. If you ask me, the guys who crashed the planes into the WTC and the Pentagon are number one on the list of suspects - just a hunch.
Trying to pin the Anthrax on any other group at this point is just playing politics. Why not blame the Panthers? They look at the media as right wing. It's arbitrary.
