Haven't found a web-link to this effect, but you may all be rest assured that WBAP stated that the EPA has confirmed that the mysterious gunk in the sky is WAX WORM WEB.

To those so inclined, Here's how to raise wax worms

And here's a scrumptious recipe for wax worm fritters

Actually this happened in the Austin area too. Not as bad as Dallas though. There is nothing like waking up in the morning to a NAVY helicopter hovering over your house and neighborhood for half an hour either. This happened about the same time as the "cobwebs" appeared in Dallas. Hmm, I really dunno. Its hard to say what is actually going on if anything. All I know is, my 30 years in Texas, mostly living in Dallas, I have NEVER seen ANY cobweb material float around in the sky any time of the year. Funny how quickly people are to just dismiss it. The media reported nothing here, only in the Dallas area.

The 10-15-01 Dallas Morning News Metro section p.17a states: "The Enviromental Protection Agency even tested the substance and confirmed it is spider web."
