Lets get some facts on the table. The number of Arabs dispossessed when Israel was established was 550,000, the difference between the number there in the last British census and the first Israeli census after the war. In the same period, about 800,000 Jews departed the Arab countries.

The Arabs refused to resettle their refugees, while the Jews did so immediately.

Fifty three years after leaving the new Israel, It's pretty hard to consider these people refugees.

I think the only ones here that actually get what's going on are the ones saying that Israel and the US have to seem to be separating or the staunch Israeli hater nations are not going to join the coalition, Sharon is NOT stupid, and Neither is Bush. This is some kind of political game to get the more hardcore Arab nations to join the coalition.

I say let those arab nations sit on the sidelines if they don't like the way we help Israel, but better men then me seem to think otherwise. I will trust them to do what is right.

If the Palestinians didn't want to lose their land, they shouldn't have let Jordan place troops on both sides of the Jordan.

Excuse me I don't recall the Palestinians being asked if they wanted the Zionist Jews coming to their land in the first place. This was an idea foisted on them by the European powers, of the time.

As for your idea, "To the victor go the spoils", Why didn't we ship all the Japanese off to their blood relatives in China and take over their land? Sharon is right to express his concerns. After all, our country was attacked, and yet we are BEGGING Arab and Moslem nations to allow us to use their territories and airspace to kill BinLaden.

We are supposed to be in war. Can you imagine Douglas MacArthur begging Burma, or Indonesia to permit us to fly over their territories, after we were attacked by the Japs?
