"However, some of us still prefer reality over fantasy." It is my prayer that you will discover the reality of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord rather than the reality of the wrath of Almighty God. The only thing that separates you from the reality of the later is the fact that He has graciously consented to give you the reality of His patience.
And that is no fantasy.

Oh, puh-leeze. 30 minutes can't go by on C-Span without some southern holy-roller trying to ramrod a religious amendment through on some bill these days. If it really bothered you that much, you wouldn't be reading these threads. Since you read them and take your Parthian shots, you are seeking targets. Could we classify this behavior as bigoted? Intolerant? Mean-spirited?

This is a new thought to me..I have always thought of the cross as a sign of God's Mercy and Grace, the ultimate act of love for sinful man..not as an act to vindicate His name. Any further insite would be welcome... Also consider that Jesus' death on the cross guaranteed the doom of Satan and all the unsaved. Since Jesus suffered the penalty for the sins of the elect, the fact that the penalty for the sins of the reprobate would also have to be paid was made certain because of God's perfect justice.
Before the cross, Satan could have accused Jesus of being unjust for not punishing His people for their sins while holding others accountable. So the cross not only vindicated the Righteousness of God as the author so accurately points out, but also vindicated the Justice of God.
I will pray for your daughter.
In Christ,

You're welcome. And thank you for, for once, if only once, passing up the opportunity to... well, you know.

Thank you for the prayers..and the insight.
I had never considered that the same cross that saved some also sealed the fate of the lost, but it sure did...

Repeating myself from awhile back. While on vacation I stumbled upon Pilgrim Radio from Carson City. They were reading from a book John Piper wrote about three Christians, one of whom was John Bunyan. That was the first I ever heard of John Piper - great book by the way. Anyway as a result I have been re-reading Pilgrim's Progress, what a great read! I have noticed a similarity between some of the non-believers on these threads and some of the folks Christian, Faithful, and Hopeful met along the way to the Celestial City. I also have a audio tape of Ethel Barret narrating Pilgrim's Progress and a book Nathaniel Hawthrone about the new "modern way" to the Celestial City. In the last portion of the later she describes "dead without Christ" as a result of the deception of the "modern way". It is blood curdling! the way she describes "dead without Christ".
I trust everyting is OK. Goodnight.

Excellent points. When the secularists take the "man is the measure of all things" position, it only leads them to grievous error. They don't apprehend that the true awfulness and heinousness of sin is that it is treason - and it is treason against a holy Being who has done us no wrong! Their conceit is imagining they have standing to question the Almighty, Lord of the Universe!

Good Morning...I am going to be reading Pilgrims Progress as soon as I clear out my current reading..it is funny you should bring it up..It is not normally the type of reading I choose..but it is such a classic I thought I had best read it.I purchased a copy a couple years ago to read and ended up giving to a friend..she has read it I still have not:>(.
My daughter has still not had the baby...this is a long and difficuly labor..say yet one more...the doctor will be in about now to check her and the baby.
