"Bill, after I saw Mr. Lutnick on television I sent a check to his relief fund. Will you find out what happened to my money?" (O'Reilly: "I will, Mrs. Smith.")
"After being asked the question, 'What can we do to help?' this guy begged for more business. Don't let this one go, Bill." (O'Reilly: "Don't worry, I won't.)
To a viewer who wrote "Give the guy a break...most of his business is gone," O'Reilly responded, "Nonsense. The Cantor Fitzgerald website has raised millions. Mr. Lutnick is worth millions and even hires a PR firm. He's been called by us many, many times and won't respond...he's running. Get it?"
"Bill, thanks for the story. You can be sure we would never have seen it on any other network."
"After watching him cry on several appearances, I told my husband his tears were not real. He told me to give him a break. It seems I was right."
"Lutnick played on the emotions of Americans. Send him over here...we'll show him some 'hillbilly justice.'"
Recently widowed stay-at-home mom, or Wall Street shark - those are your choices when it comes down to who you're rooting for here.
I'm not being classist either - I'm talking about character. (It is a rare occasion when I would frame an argument in such Oprah-esque terms, but that guy is a sleazoid.)
My gut told me this guy was one step ahead of Chuckie "Don't Git In My Way" Schulmerister!
Needs to be said again. Thanks.
These are not the principles that America was founded by, Our Founding Fathers risked their fortunes to form this Nation, and for any business person to wrap themselves in the flag, when it suits them, for profit, and turn a blind eye when it comes with a price, are only contributing to the downfall of America.
Best post of the thread. Also needs to be said again. Thanks. And keep that edge.
