The Kingston Trio also did a version of the Battle of New Orleans, I believe. We fired our guns, but the British kept a'comin... GREAT song!

"I'd Rather Die Than Be Your Slave" by Pokerface ( http://www.pokerface.com/ThePatriot/ ). Another song off their last CD, Sex, Lies, and Politiks, called Watchman would also fit the genre very nicely......

Born in the U.S.A. is more anti-American, than patriotic.... and Bruce Springsteen is a socialist stooge anyhow.

"We Must Take America Back" by Steve Vaus. He also has a song called "Will You Be Among The Patriots."

I'm not a Neil Diamond fan but I do like his "America" from the Jazz Singer soundtrack.

If you're a fan of instrumental, Sousa's Stars And Stripes Forever is good. Also The Washington Post March and American Patrol. Stay away from America, it's a retread of God Save The Queen. Kate Smith is great.

Then there are the traditional ones:
The Marine Corps Hymn
"Wild Blue Yonder"
The Caissons Go Rolling Along
and my personal fave, Anchors Aweigh

(Wanders off, humming "and sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!")

"Star Spangled Banner" -- Jimi Hendrix. Say what you will, it's an incredible version. I'd love to see this blasted across the Kandahar Range, rattling down into the caves where Osama-mama is hiding.

To: Wow....I'm blown away by all the great suggestions...
...speaking lf lines, I still like some lines from Merle Haggard's Okie from Musgokee:

"Leather boots are still in style for manly football.....Beads and Roman Sandels won't be seen."
Also - "We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy....Like the hippies out in San Francisco do."

Can you imagine if someone released that today? God Bless Merle Haggard!
