America is NOT acting like a superpower. We are not acting as the rest of the world expected after 7000 of us die at the hands of a foreign aggressor.
It pains me to say this, but I believe our enemies are watching us, and from their perspective, they see a kid who got beat up, going up to the bully's friends, plaintively asking them to help him get even with their pal.

The majority of Arab peoples do not want war and are willing to have friendly relations with the West.
The question is, when push comes to shove, and they must take a side, which side will they take?

The one that looks like it's winning.

"The one that looks like it's winning."

For the "haves", yes, I agree. But for the "have nots", I suspect it'll be the side that offers the 70 virgins.

Now, how many "haves" are there? And how many "have nots"?

"But every Moslem child understands it clearly. What the political commentators and senators in the US fail to realize is crystal clear to the other half of the world. America is not at war with a single individual - Bin Laden -but with every child that will be born tomorrow in Cairo, Amman, Beirut, Gaza and, if he is a Moslem, even in New Jersey."

This is something that I have been hearing about and seeing in newscasts and documentarys. It is something that I can't ignore, can you? Because if this is true, we will be fighting these people for generations. So what is the solution? Do we look for our children and grandchildren and greatgrandchildren to be fighting these same people forever?

What do you suggest? That we get rid of the current Saudi government and put Osama bin Laden in power in Saudi Arabia? And turn it into an anti-American fundementalist Muslim nation with control of about half of the world's oil supply? Or that we move all of the five million Jews out of Israel and give the land to Yasser Arafat and put the Jews where?

Maybe you would like the entire world to convert to the Wahabbi variety of Islam, so that the terrorists wouldn't feel that they have an argument with anyone?

Or is your reply (the usual one) going to be that we should just give the Palestinians what they want - a peace treaty that ends the "occupation" by destroying the State of Israel?

Yeah, we must appease the Muslim world a la 1938 Munich by disarming Israel and offering her to them to win the peace for our time.

I have no idea what the solution should be. The only thing that I was doing was questioning so that I can understand better. If the children, and we have seen pictures of them celebrating the deaths of our citizens, are indoctrinated in this from birth, where does it leave us? I have long been afraid that Israel and Palestine would pull us into their fights, if not them than Pakistan and India. We don't need to fight, why should we fight their fight for them? This is nothing new in the region, is it?

For what it's worth I agree with the article 99%.

I also agree with the parts of the article that some see as a slap towards Christianity. BIG DEAL. Moshe Feiglin is not really concerned with the problems Jews have with the Christian world......nor am I. Which are small in comparison to the Islamic challenge and aggression against Israel, New York City, Russia and Western Civilization.

Moshe Feiglin talks bluntly here and most cannot handle it. I agree with his understanding that they attack our shrines (WTC), tank our economy.... we attack their shrines which are religious. The West is not ready for this but if the battle escalates this retaliation on Islamic targets will come

There is a basic failure on this Israeli's part to understand that the United States is, and always has been, a pluralistic republic in which anyone---polygamous Mormons, Shinto-ist Japanese, even communists---could come as long as they stayed within the limits of the law. The miracles of America is that she captures these people and changes them, conforming them to her. This was true with the Irish Catholics, the Italians, the Jews, the Mexicans, the Vietnamese, and now the Arabs-Americans.

This Israeli also fails to understand that just as there are "reform" Jews (who are essentially, "non-Jewish Jews," so too many of the Americanized Muslims are not "devout" in the same way that the fanatical Islamicists are.

Now, we can debate which variant of Islam is the "true" Islam---just as people debate which variant of Judaism is the "true" strain---but the fact is, the Muslim Americans here (with the exception of the kook few, as in ANY group) are no different than the Irish Americans who did not support Sein Fein, or the Italian Americans who were not "deep" into the Mob.

He IS right, however, that Israel was founded on a set of RELIGIOUS principles, and abandoned those long ago. Nevertheless, the Lord said there will be a remnant, and He will see them through til the end. So I don't worry about them.

Funny, Jesus didn't mention a war against Muslims. He said, through Paul, that we war not against flesh, but against principalities. Now in my view, Islam is a false religion---no worse than Buddhism or Shintoism or Communism for that matter, and no better.

But to lose focus and try and make this a holy war is not very bright. Our war in 1941 was not against all Japanese or Germans---only those on the other side of the oceans. The same must be true here. And Christians must undertake this war like all other just wars, by focusing on punishing evildoers (but not the innocent), executing "wrath" and protecting our own people (some of which are Muslims).

First, we haven't declared war, so we can't lose it.

Second, we WILL kick SOMEONE's a$$! It might not stop terrorism, but it sure will make the terrorists earn their keep!

I agree, especially since what he snipped isn't true anyway. If he thinks Christianity is all mercy and no justice, he and many other Jews are in for a big surprise.

America is not Israel, and Israel is not America.

What works in America does not always work in Israel, and contrawise.

Be that as it may, I do think that America could benefit from some Israeli intelligence. They deal with the perpertrators every day. Our guys should talk to their guys.

History shows that to attack America is the worst kind of self-defeating idiocy. This newest pack of fools will soon learn the price of their terrible folly.

What have I done? Lesseee, well, I teach between 100-150 students per semester, and when we come to the Holocaust, I point out that Hitler singled out the Jews primarily because he hated all religion, and sought to destroy Christianity, but to get at it, he had to start with the root, which is Judaism. I go through the anti-semitism of MARX and HITLER---communism's anti-semitism and naziism are virtually identical in this regard.

I explain to them the life of Jesus, who, as a Jew had Jewish disciples (who could not be "born again" until the Resurrection).

I go over the so-called "Holocaust Deniers" and their moronic "literature," so that the students see what junk is out there.

Want more? But there is also a fact here that cannot be glossed over. It wasn't me, but Peter, who said not once but many times to the Jews, "Christ, whom YOU CRUCIFIED . . . ." We shouldn't forget that, either. God said He would protect the Jews, and that He would keep for Himself a remnant. I think I can trust him on that.
