Having said that, Canadians need to change their voting trends.

Yes, but not back to the Politically Correct (PC) Party. They need to give the Canadian Alliance a chance.

The Canadian Alliance is led by a man who says that dinosaurs wandered the earth 6000 years ago.

Wail about socialist healthcare up here, you have it too, its called HMO's.

The differences, however, are sharp:

We don't have to belong to an HMO (I haven't for years); there are other choices.
We aren't forbidden by law from paying directly for medical services.

But, do you want us to have 1,000,000 strong army, with ample armour? Think again.

I suppose it depends on the type of people you are. Canadians don't seem all that nervous about us because they know we are basically good and just (unless one of our Democrat leaders gets caught getting BJs from an intern)

It could make many of you very nervous to know that your neighbour has that.

At the moment what is making us nervous is that our neighbor to the north lets terrorists into their country and then they come into our country.

Most of us are located within 100 miles of your border, so if the nukes hit you, they will hit us too.Toronto is a more appealing target than Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, and probably only NYC, LA, Chicago and Houston would get hit first.

The Liberals are led by a man that thinks socialism is a reasonable economic philosophy.

They arrive here, but they have to get through US Customs, don't they? How do they manage that? There is a breakdown on your end, too.

"but we would never allow a child with cancer to die simply because his father lacked the means to pay for the surgery. We have the notion that the poor might actually be deserving of quality care, even if they don’t have a job."

I think you will find that this does not happen here either. Our health care system does not only service those who can pay, no matter what the liberals say!

I agree though there was no need for the name calling. We do not doubt that your love for your country is every bit as strong as ours.

The Liberal party is led by a man who wanders through public parks late at night talking to the homeless.

How would anyone defend against the US, huh? Christ, you want Canada to be like the Soviets of old so you can say that at least we can defend themselves, from the US? We are a small country, with under 30 million people.Just how are we to match the US militarily? C'mon...

Don't worry about those yahoos they couldn't pour beer out of a bottle with directions on the bottom anyway.

As regards the report 1) Get the f@ck out of Bosnia and the rest of the Balkans (u.s.a. should too.); 2) don't worry about a military pilot shortage that potential problem ended on 9/11/01.

US rather likes having a friendly neighbour that is non threatening and can do most of its trade with

US trade with Canada is mostly a one way street. The US runs a 20 billion a year trade deficit with Canada while Canada has only about 20 million people. Compare that with the 80 billion a year deficit with China despite the fact that there are 60 Chinese for every Canadian. On a per capita basis, the US trade deficit with Canada is the worst of any country.

"The low level of collective training, the unsatisfactory state of some weapons and equipment and the lack of logistics support would make engagement in combat operations problematic without resolving those shortfalls."

What a pity. Once Upon A Time, Canada produced a top-notch warplane, the Avro Arrow. These days, it's hard to believe that was ever the case. BTW, is there still a Lancaster bomber on display in Toronto's lakefront area, near the Skydome? I saw it a few years ago while there on a business trip and remember thinking how out of place it looked.

I guess you know nothing of comparative advantage, do you? That trade helps to swell your capital account surplus, chum, which makes it easier for your to consume more by not having interest rates at 14%.Brush up on the national income account identity before complaining about trade balances.

The answer is simple make all the provinces except Qubec part of the U.S.. Then return all of the handguns that their liberal government has confiscated and that will solve the problem.. Return the long guns also.

Sorry you are missing the point. I don't understand why any country would totally sit back and leave their own security to someone else. If the reports are true on the state of the Canadian military that have been posted the last few days. There is not much left of your military that you could even help us defend you in a time of war. I guess we are to supply the soldiers that are to willingly die for your freedom. Not to mention the cost of the military hardware.

I guess I am beginning to find the world's reaction to us amazing. They blame us if we get involved and when we don't. They want us to protect them and butt out. We never do enough or we do too much, but no matter what it is always our fault.

They expect us to keep them free and offer us no help in return.

Yeah, we remember who our friends are. Our friends will tighten up their immigration so that terrorists can't easily slip into our country. Our friends will freeze terrorists assets so that they will have a harder time attacking us. Our friends will come to our aid without ditthering around for two weeks after we are attacked. Too bad Canada did, and is doing, none of these. Oh wait! You did whine about not being included in the Presidents speech. Guess that counts for something...

I like how your post defends Canada by attacking the US. Real class job. Tell ya what. Slug down some syrup, go back to your igloo and turn on a hockey game. We'll let you know when it's safe to come out...

Our military is small, but as a member of it, and after having worked with many American soldiers, would say that it is composed of, as a whole, the finest soldiers in the world.

What do you do in the military? Deliver poutine to the cavalry?
