Never heard of Steinlager? So you're not drinking our beer, there? (Actually, Steinlager's owner, Lion, is now owned by Japanese brewing giant, Kirin)

Ask a real Noo Zealander, and he'll probably ask for a Speights. (Also from the Lion stable).

Or if you're really adventurous next time you're in New Zealand, chug down on a Monteith's. Now that'll put some hair on your finger-nails.

Sounds very different to what we in the RNZN were told. It was that the invitation for the USS Buchanan was cancelled owing to the US neither confirm nor deny policy. So the Buchanan went to Aust for the port visit instead of coming to NZ.
