If that's true, the environmentalists will be ecstatic. Many of them believe the "long-term carrying capacity" of planet Earth is only 300 million humans.
I've never understood why they don't establish quotas for other species as well. It's harder to conduct a census of some of these critters would be one reason, I suppose.

So the gist of this article is, don't attack your enemy because they already hate you and it might make them hate you more. I can picture liberals like this polling propagansized Japanese citizens about America and deciding that responding to Pearl Harbor would only "continue the cycle of violence" It makes me sick

We don't want to invade. We just want to visit for a few hours.

Ground combat is their national sportIs that so? I would then support making their ground glow in the dark for a few centuries from the air.
This place could be renamed Curtis LeMay Proving Ground.

I think your earlier analysis of what should be done is right on the mark and I also believe that is what will happen. The target will be infrastructure and isolation. This is not a "manhunt" for one individual or small group. The mission is to deplete the tactical and strategic infrastructure required for these networks to operate in. This a complete "paradigm shift". Destroy the nest not the bird.

Certainly, it will be a world war. America will not win, and whoever the combatant is will not win. It's suicide. The U.S. should be true to its written creed, and not so often follow its hidden agendas.

Bingo. That's what I am for, a B-52 stream from Diego.
The folks calling for a ground invasion and occupation are naive or delusional, there is nothing the Afgans would enjoy more.
We can cut Afganistan off from the world by blowing all of the mountain river gorge bridges, tunnels, passes, and steep sided highways and rails. A crow will then need to bring rations into the country. And of course, we should turn off every last watt of electricity.
But even still, I think we will be in a world war with at least 6 moslem nations in a year.

Was your reply translated into English by the Babblefish program? Care to try again?
To: Travis McGee
Yeah, I know they have mountains. So what? We'd better have some good damn mountain stuff in inventory for $300 billion/year.
Nobody's saying this would be easy, but WWII wasn't easy either.

Curtis LeMay would approve!

What do Alexander the Great, the British Army, and the Soviet Army all have in common?

Jim Malone: You wanna get Capone? Here's how you get him. He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way. And that's how you get Capone! -Sean Connery, "The Untouchables." Something tells me Bin Laden would fit just as well in there as Capone.

A few miles outside Peshawar there are thriving markets in guns and contraband household goods. Gee, I wonder who manufacturers and distributes much of this stuff that they are so anxious to own. Could it be the "Great Satan"?
