Is Jerry Falwell America's Taliban?

Do you remember when the left-wingers in this country promoted the idea of "moral eqivalence" between the former USSR and the US? When you hear people comparing Jerry Falwell to the Taliban, think about it. I think that Jerry was less than sensitive in the timing of his remarks, but as Christians, we do think that this country has slid morally in the last 25-50 years. As Christians, we are also aware of the manner in which God withdrew His protection from ancient Israel. While no individual, or even an identifiable group of individuals should be singled out, IMO, we are less than honest if we don't at least consider the possibility that there are consequences for our decline in morality.

I'm the same Freeper I've always been, with the same contempt for cliques of bullies I've always held.

Although, when it comes to OWK and his Christian hunters, I will admit I've rarely felt it more strongly. You see, they were once themselves hunted here, which makes their recent crusade that much more reprehensible.

Look at all garbage coming out about national ID cards etc.
What falwell said was not stupid, but, rather, he should not have connected it to the outrage.
I am NOT a fan of falwell's. I'm more concerened with the anti-Americanisms I'm seeing and hearing about from the left and our colleges.
Why don't you post something about that? Falwell is no danger to us, in fact, because of his inopportune statement, he has lost a lot of credibility.
The liberals are harping on him to cover themselves. What bill maher said was much worse than what falwell said.
