Religion is not the answer, it is probably the problem.

Statements like this make it clear (as it has been clear to me for years) that the FFRF is more about trying to eradicate religion, not just about constitutional issues of the so-called "separation of church and state".

What they fail to realize is that calling for a national day of prayer is not an example of government establishing a religion.

It's time that everyone immediately stopped referring to the "separate of church and state" as some constitutional thing, when what they really mean is the establishment clause which is totally different.

it is not the role of the President of the United States, or his spokespersons, to urge citizens to pray, to go to church, to turn to faith, or to observe a National Day of Prayer with worship.

Do these idiots really believe the President is forcing people to pray?

It is offensive that the President of all Americans disregards the convictions, even the existence, of the more than 10% of the population that is not religious.

So, it's okay to offend 90% of the population? If he is a man of faith, why shouldn't a president LEAD the nation in the way in which the MAJORITY of the people receive COMFORT?

These people have wayyyyy to much time on their hands. At work, although we have rules against using company emails for political, religious, private purposes, during this week there has been an outpouring of emails throughout the company, even by our CEO and executive VPs. Today, someone sent one reminding people of the national day of prayer and encouraged them to do something about it. One employee replied to the entire company (1500 employees), "That's it. I've had it. Keep this religious babble out of my business e-mail!" Another employee responded with "Amen." And a third responded with, "Thank you. Seconded."

I sent each a private message telling them it was very easy to delete these emails. All they have to do is go to "File--delete" and they'd be gone. Then I told them I'd pray for them and their loved ones and asked God to bless them. One replied with a "Thank you." LOL.

My company decided to set up a site on our intranet to discuss the attacks and pass messages, links, and graphics.

Acts of Terrorism the Ultimate "Faith-Based Initiative"?

I feel like giving them a foot-based initiative right in the groin for saying that...

If you want "Freedom From Religion," move to China.

Of course, this is what we should have expected, sorry to say, coming from the Peoples Republic of Madison (and Univ. of Wisconsin, where Donna Shalala emerged from).

On the morning of Napolean's last battle at Waterloo, one of his top aids said to him something along the lines that God would grant a victory if Napolean would submit to Him what we do. Napolean responded that he would not. He lost.

Other people said that the Titanic could not be sunk, even by the hand of God. They learned that you can never underestimate His power.

These people are idiots to think that God can't do a thing to help us. The whole ting though rests upon us being faithful.

It has also intrigued me to no extent that atheists don't believe in God, yet they are always fighting Him.

So, the 81.5% people of faith are to bow down to the 18.5% of athiests, agnostics and freethinkers? Hmmmm, I believe that in this "democracy" we live in, the majority rules - so this athiest just needs to put a sock in it!

And, I have never met a firefighter that does not believe in God and I know a bunch of firefighters! Don't know as many police officers as I do firefighters, but all the ones I do know are believers.
