My co-worker just got back from AAA Flag and Banner here in Los Angeles. It took 45 minutes for him to get to the counter, there were so many customers. They have American flags that you can hang from your car window, the style so popular after the Lakers Championship win a couple of months ago. I hope the American flag will be as ubiquitous as those Laker flags were.

Might want to look in your city telephone book in the Yellow Pages under flags/banners/pennants/signs. There should be something listed.

Also, try to get a flag "Made in America" not China. : )

This may be a dumb question....but here goes.
Do I still keep my flag at half staff and if so for how long?
I see some flags flying at full staff and some at half.

Last night I was at the local Meijer store (Cincinnati area) and they had 3'x5' American flags but all of the smaller flags had been sold. I saw many people carrying the smaller size around the store.

You might try looking in the yellow pages under "flags" and call one of the stores listed. I already have an American flag but couldn't find my Gadsden flag so I called yesterday morning and UPS delievered it today. Both flags are flying now.

I stopped in my local hardware store (Fairfield County, Connecticut) this afternoon to pick up a spade bit and drop off Bush 2004 bumper stickers to the guys that work there, and they told me that they'd run out of flags shortly after 8 this morning, and had hundreds of phone calls and visitors looking for flags.

God Bless America.

Not a "dumb" question at all. I don't know the answer. Try google.com and type in "flag etiquette." (I looked at some of the links, but, still haven't found the answer.)

68-69, do you happen to know? Thanks.

I just searched every store I could think of near Bay Shore on Long Island and no flags were to be found (my large one is already flying, but I wanted small ones for my car and my husbands'). People were buying anything red, white and blue that they could find - old Fourth of July decorations, ribbons, tinsel garland, etc. People headed into stores were asking others who were leaving, "Any flags?" I finally had to settle for some ribbon and a couple of patriotic pom poms I have left over from rallies last fall.

FYI: I heard on the radio today that President Bush says to keep flags flying at half-staff until September 22.
