If they are looking to fill 10,000 positions, that is only 17.5 applicants per forecast vacancy. That is not a lot of applicants since 70% probably won’t even make it through the initial resume screening. It was not unusual to see hundreds of applicants for single Federal job openings that were open to the public in previous years. Only a tiny portion of them ever make it to an interview.

It might only be a two or three year job. God knows if the senate or house win in 2026, ICE is doomed or 2028 if democrats win the presidency. Shutter to think especially as crazy they are.
