Feel terrible for the families seeing images of the devastation
I’d read something about one a few days ago, not today though. No details.
Holy cow. 50 miles away and you heard it. wow
It doesn’t look like “it ripped through”, it looks more like “it totally vaporized” the facility.
Multiple separate building onsite at AES (they do civilian demolition & mining explosives too):

So do I.
looks like a single metal building 100x200 feet, i.e., 20,000 square feet ... pretty small operation ...
McEwen, it’s north of I-40 near the Kentucky Lake. The factory is up in the hills away from town, if Google Maps is correct.
Shockingly sad. You’ve got to wonder if they will even find bone fragments. I knew a guy who worked on the UAL Flight 93 crash site and they found fragments of personal possessions but almost nothing of the passengers. The visitor’s center there is sobering and sad but a tribute to those brave people who fought back.
All those buildings along that driveway are theirs...(spread out for a reason..explosives) about 6 buildings total.

Sabotage?
I believe they have 8 buildings spread across 1300 acres (more than 2 square miles). Probably exactly because of the risk of incidents like this.
I'm familiar with the facility and their products. When I heard the name of the company I knew it wasn't going to be a small accident. It's a sad situation. Prayers sent up for strength and peace for all involved...
