Maybe. But I often wonder when the press reaches out and finds a relative just how much credence I should give to this person. I mean relative could be a first cousin who sees this person every holiday and at every family event. He could be a 4th cousin three times removed who last saw the person 12 years ago. I am not only applying it to this situation but whenever the press goes on a fishing expedition to find a relative of an accused or of the victim.
