I hate to say it, but you are probably correct.

I hate all lawyers, even the ones that I hired and that "won" for me.

I've paid for dozens of lawyers and all of them cared about one thing, maximizing their fee.

They didn't care about right or wrong, legal or illegal, justice meant nothing to them, winning only mattered if they had a bigger fee tied to winning.
