Colbert has over 200 and is losing 40-50 million a year.
I think USAID money was paying for this crap.
I had forgotten that terrible situation.
What a cruel guy.
I can believe he had 95 people on the payroll. It is a radio show.
Colbert had 200, but they probably did other things at the network. It was an accounting issue. It was like that for me at a previous job. I really worked in x part and was budgeted in the y part because they had money and didn’t need the staff.
I remember the show where Rush had just signed his first mega-million
dollar deal. It was something over $280 million and big news at the time.
Howard Stern was enraged that anyone could make that much money
in radio, and even more upset that it was Rush Limbaugh. In his unique,
humorous way, Rush told his 25 million listeners and Howard Stern that
Howard should be kissing the ground that he (Rush) walked on. Rush
had structured a deal that opened the door to untold wealth for AM
radio jocks like Howard Stern and that Howard should at least
acknowledge that, if not thank him.
I bet there was taxpayer money from places like USAID paying for everything.
He can do the show with less than 20 employees, I bet Rush never had a bloated staff. Howard has a lot hangers on that probably do nothing, well the gravy train is over for them.
I saw where Howard is looking at other formats, I presume Podcasts and YouTube, but he is now yesterday’s news and it’s over. He is not going to become another Joe Rogan, etc, out there. No one is going to pay him any big money for a platform.
