“One of our former county commissioners said in one meeting that 213 thousand dollars for a house is low income housing.”

One of my Daughters bought a very nice home on a corner lot with 1/4 acre and six bedrooms in a VERY good quiet neighborhood for 250K. That is our true local demographics. 1200 to 1300 a month rent for a cheesy one bedroom apartment is absolutely insane...

“”Property tax is completely immoral in my mind.””

It’s just another means of control and another boot on the throats of patriots that own property. And we know that the anti-American elitists and communists want to eliminate all property owners except for their ‘big government’ stooges. Mamdani is just catering to that same evil philosophy, in fact.

“Consider this. Your retirement is so that even with social security you cant pay the rent, water bills, electric, etc and have enough left for food.”

This is the situation that troubles me the most. Some percentage of homeless are such that they will never “mainstream” into a normal housing environment. Hobos, bums, whatever you call them.

But there are some percentage that legitimately are “down on their luck” and really do want a normal life. How do we as a society help/protect those that would be ok if they could just get things stable.

And the situation seems to be getting worse. How many folks are one medical event, or one car repair, or whatever, away from not being able to afford the basics.

Those are the folks that I want to be helped. They will actually benefit from the resources. I like the idea of bungalow courts, or some such.

I just am not sure how we can get there. My personal help and resources can only go so far.

I count 74 or 75 references to the poor in scriptures.

What’d you count?

I am talking about those WHO WORK, but cant sustain themselves.

Free market capitalism is great when honest. I am a businessman myself. But Crony Capitalism and “Corporatism” are NOT free market Capitalism. There is a huge difference folks are either ignorant to, or out of greed refuse to admit.

When businesses conspire to fix prices and gouge universally out of pure greed and then have their cronies in city hall bash anyone who doesn’t go along with the fixing it is absolutely immoral. It is not free market when you are forced by the powers that be to be part of the conspiracy or be destroyed.

Been there...

The last thing, in my experience with this is, NEVER, give them money.

It will have to be done within each community.

Have to try and keep government to hell out of it. And you know why.

Since you mention taxes here is the reality.

Landlords want to0 much rent, this creates homelessness, Then in turn they do not want to pay ANY taxes to help fix the homeless problem they themselves created.

They need to look in the mirror. They are creating their own problem and then they want to have their cake and eat it too.

It just DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY IN THE REAL WORLD.

ME TOO!!! But then we run into local building codes that require a minimum square feet for a home for it to be occupied. I have no problem with those who would like to live in tinyhomes. But local planning and zoning just will not allow them. Why? Because someone five blocks away insists it might hurt their property value. Isn’t it better than all the homeless in their town? Nope, they are just supposed to disappear into thin air...

“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”

Yup. If you can’t work that’s one thing, but if you can work but refuse to (would not), plan on starving.

Like i said. The figures i have seen is that the largest growing population of homeless are those over the age of 55.

And most work.

So..most of them are either single or widowed..whatever.

So a 300 SQ foot or so kitchenette bungalow would suffice.

That’d be a ten by 30 foot building. Put on a lot with a 8 foot clearance on each side..or a ten foot on one and 8 on the other. Or about a 30 by 40 lot. Up to a 1200 sq foot lot.
There is a couple living down road from me that lives in a 10 by 30 foot place like that. They got it fixed up REALLY nice inside.

That is an exercise of POWERS. The President executes laws per Congress. The Constitution limits Congressional powers to what is authorized under Article I Section 8.

No matter how much we would prefer such a discretionary exercise, its terms are outside the bounds, as muddied by incremental Federal habits.

I’ve looked at the shedds at HD.
Take the hip roof one. Could be made into a nice little place for a single person.

But, 2x4 studs. Easy to fix though. Sister the studs with another 2x4 or 2x6.

It’s a start. At least President Trump can tell the difference. Biden and the Democrats could not — therefore they couldn’t make a difference. You have to be able to tell the difference before one can make a difference. With Biden and the Democrats, they couldn’t even tell the difference between men and women, good from bad, up from down, demented from perfectly normal, etc. We have to be able to discriminate significant differences — and not simply put our heads in any hole, and claim we can’t see anything.

"commits federal funding"
Not a Federal power under the Constitution. It's a State matter.
Look who's a district judge all of a sudden..

I know a couple different widows who are only getting $600 a month, half of their late husband’s SS plus food assistance and have to live in their cars.

If they're only getting $600, and they're over age 65, they're also eligible for SSI.

“As far as I can tell the order is concerned with those homeless who are causing public disorder due to mental illness, drug addiction, or other factors making them a danger to themselves or others. It is not a one size fits all approach but is tailored to a portion of the demographic.”

Unfortunately government “solutions” are ALWAYS one size fits all across the board even if it makes absolutely no sense at all in some cases.

10X20 tall enough to have a sleeping loft is plenty big enough for two people. Easy and cheap to heat and cool, easy to keep clean.

They used to have a cure for this problem. They were called trailer parks. But they do not allow those to be built anymore. The only ones you will see now are Grandfathered in.

Yup.
And in your link to that channel, we can see not a few are living in RVs.

So whats their solution for those people? Tow the RVs away and impound them.

How about condeming a vacant lot some syster SOB bastard developer has and create a RV park.

But, as we know. Investors are purchasing those as well as trailer parks. Closing them, kicking the occupants out and developing that land.

They are trying that crap in this valley. At the one county meeting, after it was over, i went up to the representative and told that asshole if they start nailing up their GD cookie cutter houses, they better make sure they got no illegals framing. Because i am going to make sure ICE will be making several visits.
