Google AI has a long commentary that states flatly Russia did interfere to help Trump in 2016. It quotes every swamp statement as fact. It refers to anti-swamp statements as “Trump said”, “Trump spokesperson alleged”.

I haven’t followed the details, but, as I understand it, the Russians DID attempt a cyberattack. The only success they had was to access one state’s records. They didn’t get even that far in other states, much less alter vote totals.
The Obama administration said that the attempt had been made, for which there was some evidence. Hence, the facts that I’ve seen wouldn’t support a criminal conviction beyond a reasonable doubt, which is the standard that would have to be met for prosecuting anyone.
The standard for prosecuting Obama would be higher, as the DoJ would somehow have to get around the same broad immunity that SCOTUS granted to Trump.
Finally, all those involved, from Obama on down, are probably protected by the statute of limitations.
Trump is a master of media manipulation. He knows that slinging around these kinds of threats will get coverage — even if no case is brought. But that doesn’t mean that people should get their hopes up about an actual prosecution.
I adhere to my prediction that the DoJ will not even TRY to indict Obama. Secondary prediction: If there is a prosecution, either a judge will dismiss the case or a jury will acquit.
Not to insult you, but I certainly hope you are wrong in your prediction. The actions taken need to be punished so severly that furture generations of bureaucrats will run screaming into the night if they even dream about doing such again.

I appreciate that you said “hope” — a recognition that hoping and predicting are two different things. If people enjoy indulging a fantasy of Obama in prison, that’s harmless entertainment. I sometimes enjoy fantasizing about hitting a home run in an MLB game. But I don’t plan my career on the assumption that I’ll get an MLB contract.
Some of the people posting in this thread are setting themselves up for a disappointment when nothing happens.
