Lower interest rates and you will definitely increase inflation. The deficit pushes inflation too, and higher interest rates increase the size of the deficit. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out with tariffs having a small inflationary impact while providing revenue against the deficit.

I can't blame Trump for wanting lower rates like Obama had with practical zero rates his entire 8 years. It juices the economy and makes the president look good. Of course, Trump can make that situation soar, unlike Obama.
But I agree that rates too low for too long is ultimately bad.
