I don't think any longtimers here, at least very few, want to see folks banished for not liking Trump or his policies, for whatever reason. Several years ago I got banned for not particularly liking Sarah Palin (some here still hate me for that), so I certainly don't want contrarian viewpoints to be used as a banishment excuse.

Having said that, it is JimRobs call to make. And Trump is the anti-bush, IMO. He ran as anti-Bush, and changed the entire mindset and trajectory of the GOP. I don't think even Reagan had the kind of impact Trump is having.

Bush supporting organs like National Review, Weekly Standard, WSJ, etc have been decimated by their opposition to Trump. The Free Trade at any cost crowd can now fit into a phone booth. And a secure border in 6 months is near miraculous. So I don't think there is a line from Bush to Trump. I think Trump choked the life out of the old GOP and made it into his party. For better or for worse is all a matter of opinion. I say for much much better.

Good question. My guess is Obama didn't want it shutdown. We know he had it out for Flynn because he had most of the keys to the intel kingdom. Once Trump took over Comey and McCabe were left holding a pile of steaming excrement. They doubled down on their endeavors with the help of Republican and Democrat leadership at the time.
