The real problem is that there is no measurable global temperature. Even using average temperatures means little. Temperature is a measure of heat from a body in equilibrium. And the weather stations subject to outside forces are not in equilibrium.
I’m reading “After 1177”, about the Middle East after the collapse of the Late Bronze Age civilizations, a sequel to his “1177 BC” book. One of the drivers of this seems to be climate change, resulting in droughts lasting hundreds of years.
These kinds of mega-droughts have happened all over the world. California has had two of these in the last 1000 years alone. There have been large variations in climate since the end of the last glacial maximum, at times when humans contributed little CO2.
While we have dumped a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere, and that might be driving some of the warming, there are lots of things not under our control that affect the climate. For climate hysterics to start predicting specific times (6.3 years) and temperatures (1.5 degrees C) is just hubris.
