I agree. But keep in mind that the main benefit for having nuclear propulsion on carriers is that they can then carry twice the load of aviation fuel of a conventional carrier.
Everything except only having half the endurance. But I don’t dispute your main point. In fact, as broke as this country is, we should probably move away from carriers in general, nuclear or not. As the original post states, they will be neutralized rather quickly in a peer on peer war, so why do we keep building them? (MIC needs?) Might as well build a few battleships while we’re at it.
In a sneak attack the forward deployed carrier groups are in danger but not the bulk of the fleet. You only get one sneak attack per war.
Considering how deeply China has penetrated this country betting they already have the technology.
Nope. Fully autonomous, AI-controlled missiles that avoid natural obstacles and enemy ordinance alike, survive electronic jamming efforts, and then use complex AI learning to locate, attack, and destroy their intended target by guiding themselves to hit below the waterline, launched from hundreds of miles away. Not a torpedo, but missiles launched by air, ground or sea. The intent is to blow a ship out of the water with a single hit by breaking it into two in order to sink it.
Taking out the Three Gorges Dam likely would be a war crime due to the collateral damage.
It’s strategic as it powers the whole country including major mil;itary assetts. A Chinese EMP nuke could do the same to our country..assuming they could place it just right but I don’t think they are worried about Civilian war crimes caused by those. It might be possible to emp the dam to destroy its power generating capacity but since the turbines and generator are well grounded...it probably wouldn’t work other than the frying the out door transformers and transmission wires.
This article alludes to research by the US Navy hoping to have smart missiles down to a $50,000 price tag, instead of the millions of dollars for existing JDAM torpedos used to kill ships. Especially if a war occurs with China. If this info is public, then we don’t know how far beyond these Quicksink demos are in progress.
BUT.. will their sailors be able to identify toxic masculinity and memorize the latest list of pronouns.
That's the hard part, getting the launch platform near the CVBG undetected.
No.
I shouldn’t have said between, I should have said above.
We should read "above" the lines? I've never heard of that expression. Everyone's heard of the expression, Read between the lines. But what does "Read above the lines" mean?
It means look at context, from a global perspective to a local.
It also refers to the importance of means, methods, strategies and philosophies for communication.
