I’ve seen amazing results in hyperactive children and adults in a controlled environment. Helped them focus immensely.

I do think it’s over prescribed and too easily diagnosed.

Funny how Alex Berenson gets quoted as an expert by the Blaze writer.

It wasn’t long ago that Berenson was writing that “the vaccines cause the variants”. That’s like a return to pre-genetic theory. The less you know about why RNA viruses make replication errors the better he sounds.

Before that came his book on marijuana which both the pro and anti pot sides ignore because it’s just journalism pretending to be research.

153 not 253. I’m smart, but not that smart. But I do have chubby fingers and bifocals.

MY brother, then head of a State level school for the blind/hearing impaired did some in-depth research for his PhD dissertation.

It looked at the impact of sugary breakfast foods and the impact on children in his large school.

Bottom line, Capt’n Crunch was like lighting a fuse, the kids would bounce off the walls.

ADHD or sugar sensitivity? I vote for evil sugar.

You’re casting pearls before swine. People without ADD/ADHD just don’t get it. All they can do is mindlessly repeat “well of course you feel good, you’re on speed.” They’ve never had that Flowers for Algernon experience of taking a pill and suddenly being functional, of being caught by shortage and watching helplessly as your everyday life self destructs.

My husband didn’t even understand until he went on Wegovy and suddenly dieting became effortless to him. He said it was like a switch turned off and suddenly he wasn’t thinking about food all the time. And I pointed out that for me, Adderall stops me from thinking about everything all the time, allowing me to focus on one thing and carry it through. But you can’t convince some people that it doesn’t all boil down to will power and brute force.

Or just boys. It seems to be boys they want to label.

One day we went to the zoo, stopped for a picnic lunch. There was a grassy area with a patch of loose dirt. My grandson was around three then and he always had at least one car in his pocket and after we ate he went to the dirt and started playing with his car. He was not being loud at all or even being silly. A gal my daughter went to school stopped to say hi. As she was leaving she asked my daughter if my grandson had ADHD. WHAT? Because he was acting like a little boy?

Scary thing is that gal is a teacher... and raising 2 boys.

I’ve been taking Adderall for about 40 years. It’s not addictive. I sometimes skip it for 2-3 days.

I currently have metastatic prostate cancer; and Adderall is a huge help with cancer-related fatigue.

Guess what. PTSD isn’t a real thing either. And a host of other mental ills.

The funny thing is they apparently haven’t been on cocaine or amphetamines either, if they think it’s all about being high. I haven’t been on cocaine; caffeine makes me feel terrible so I can’t imagine WHAT cocaine does.
