...that message was the exclamation point at the end...

You're on to something here, I am sure of it.

Funny movie. Who knew, back then, that the comedic idiocy would become reality... thanks to the DEI push by the radical left (Democrats). All part of that “fundamental transformation” bit, no doubt.

I worked at a place the removed what I had thought was the last PDP11 running in the US.

Who would have ever thought that DEC would disappear? On one project I worked on we must have had fifty MicroVaxes spread across five operational centers.

The fact that a circuit board “wears” was something it took a bit to wrap my head around.

The machines are still good. I can replace the cylinders, bearings, etc. I can’t get something to tell it what to do.

PDP11s lasted almost 50 years. Device net half that.

I made a career working on HP 1000s into the 2010s. Most programmers move on to the latest and greatest - but when layoffs come, if you’re the only one left with legacy knowledge, they don’t axe you. Spent 35 years at one company

The HP minis are very well made machines. Nothing made today is that rugged. You've had a good career. I got moved from the HP mini because I couldn't understand the math related to inertial navigation with those gyros.

I have fond memories of the mini-computers: HP, TI, DEC, DG, SEL, on and on.

Oh, no kidding!! That was a shock. Mini-computers in general went "poof" and were gone.
