Back in the 1970s New England saw a Jane Fonda movie. Based on that they halted all nuclear power development, and started shuttering plants.

Why? Your power costs are about to plummet. Ontario’s energy production is vastly more than the province can use. The largest nuclear island in the world is Bruce Power with 8 CANDU reactors and two more coming. Ontario hydro also has a surplus which they sell to the USA for peak rates. If they stop selling to the USA the base rate for power in the province plummets. You will benefit from that. Unless you have some political axe to grind.

NY, PN and VT are all going to have to buy power from the North East interconnect at high rates to replace Ontario hydro and nuclear surplus power. ConEd is really in a bind they shut down Palisades Nuclear Power Plant and want heavy into Ontario hydro to replace it.

Poor Doug. Within 2 weeks of tariffs being imposed tomorrow all the auto production lines in Ontario shut down. They export 93% of their production to the US. That is their number one employer with over 200,000 direct and indirect jobs. Those production lines and jobs are headed here Dougie.

The unused Capacity will generate zero revenue, for Canada (MW's with no place to go). The States who wanted to force the NWO "Green Deal" crap, will be having blackouts and brownouts, and explaining it's "Trump's Fault".

The rest of the country, and the Red States, will notice nothing.

He can't win; and he knows it. The losses on exports to the tariffs, and the tariffs' impact on imports, will let the people of Ontario decide their next move.
