“swinging dicks in a locker room of women.
Charge the XY with voyeurism. That’s what it is and any other sicko perverted act they can. I don’t care if it does ruin the kid’s future, he did it himself. He violated the law so charge him with that. Charge his parents as well if he’s still a minor. Charge whomever or whatever organization with maybe trafficking. Throw the book at everyone involved including Gov. Sicko. No plea deals and go for prison time.
They need to see if Tonya Harding is still around.
Nip this business at the source.
Nip it. Nip it.
The demonrats want to stop every Republican vote so they can maintain control of the Maine House. They have the numbers by 2 so with her out, they’d be up by 3 but there are potentially 3 outlier votes.
Someone told me here in Maine that it would cost the Republican party of Maine $100,000 to get a ballot initiative in the works to repeal RCV. The GOP here in Maine either doesn’t have the money or isn’t willing to spend the money to do so. It’s pathetic.
RCV does not apply to state races. A judge rules that since the Maine Constitution mentions the word “plurality” when it comes to votes, RCV voting doesn’t apply to Maine House elections, Maine Senate elections, gubernatorial races, etc.
The federal Constitution apparently does not mention “plurality,” the judge stated in his ruling back in late 2018.
RCV applies to federal races in Maine; the two U.S. Senate races, the two House races in the two congressional districts, and the presidential race.
RCV does not kick in if a candidate has at least 50% of the vote plus one additional vote (or more).
The only time RCV screwed over a GOP candidate was in 2018, when incumbent GOP 2nd district congressman Bruce Poliquin “lost” his re-election bid even though he had 2,200 MORE votes than his democrat challenger, Jared Golden. Both of those candidates had less than 50% and, when the votes for the two minor candidates were re-tabulated under RCV, the democrat challenger, Jared Golden, “won.”
Austin Therriault, a former NASCAR driver, was the GOP challenger for that seat in 2024, and unfortunately lost by one-half of one point. I hope he tries again in 2026.
I don’t believe Laurel Libby will be forced out.
If anything, she seems to have gotten the GOP fired up, which is a good thing.
I know we bash Collins here but you can see her pickle
I don’t how she votes 80% GOP
I guess she votes no on hot social issues
Maine wasn’t like this in 80s when I used to go there
So much for "Our Democracy."
It's ironic that Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech" painting was inspired by DEMOCRAT President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 State of the Union address.
Norman Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech" painting was inspired by events in Arlington, Vermont, where Rockwell lived for a time. Specifically, it’s based on a town meeting he attended in 1942. The painting depicts a working-class man standing up to speak at a public gathering, reflecting the democratic spirit of small-town America. Rockwell drew from his observations of local life in Vermont to capture this scene, which became part of his famous "Four Freedoms" series. The setting isn’t explicitly named in the painting itself, but Arlington’s town meetings provided the real-life backdrop.
So much for rugged, individualistic, freedom-loving New England!
Now the 70 reps who voted against the censure should all rise on the house floor, one at a time, and repeat word-for-word what Rep. Lauren Libby said. That would send the house into a tizzy.
Norman Rockwell
bttt
Excellent post—exactly what Republicans would do if they had any moral courage.
It is appalling that their “censure” vote denies her not only the right to speak in the House, but denies her right to VOTE as well. So once the D’s gain a majority, they gin up other censure cases on similar thin grounds, pick off the minority one by one with censure votes and entirely eliminate the oppostiion.
Now we know what “Our Democracy” the Dems are always yammering about looks like.
Maine better get with the program or Trump will give it to Canada.

[It would cost a lot more than $100,000 to get it on the ballot and then $1 million plus to attempt to pass it. In 2016, Maine voters approved Maine Question 5 with 52% of the vote. Repealing would take an even large effort than 8 years ago.]

[Correct in part, thanks to General Joshua Chamberlain in the 1800s it does not apply to the governor’s race. It does apply to state legislative races.]

[Obviously since they have reached the majority to win. Only 2 District 2 races have gone to a ranking runoff. Even the electoral ballot votes for each of the districts and the state as a whole have been over 50% for the winning candidates]

[Austin has maintained his candidate status for a possible 2026 run. Jared Golden is considered a primary candidate for governor.]
