if they instead just shoot any DoJ enforcement officers who arrive and claim they were “Defending our democratic institutions from evil billionaires” they will get massive support from elected Democrats and the media.
Isn’t that what FR is for?
“ Sometime around the 1980s it seemed that it was much more common for people to move long distances for work or family reasons than ever before.”
Back then we were all worried about the phone bill. You’re talking long distance, don’t talk too long! But we were able to stay in contact with family and friends. Now we all carry a phone (or two) with us but no one ever “talks” on the phone.
All communication has to be done in 20 words or less.
My old friends have passed on, some from motorcycle wrecks, or covid. Many have just stopped talking. If you get a text thats it now.
Trying to call someone now results in no answer, and maybe “this number is not set up to receive messages”. Yea, the great communication age is just the opposite. Many people only get direct human contact at the bank, or the grocery store, or the doctors office.
I never liked to talk on the phone, still don’t.

Yes, I used to say I thought air conditioning ruined our neighborhoods because we no longer sit on our stoops or porches; adults no longer walk around and our childrenno longer go out to play.
Along with some other goodies that go along with it.
