The only reason astate should run an out of state truck through their own inspection is if the state where the vehicle is operated does not.

Why the HELL delay the equipment and personnel for SAFETY checks? Can't they trust the Oregon authorities to maintain their equipment to high safety standards and only send properly prepared and functioning equipment? If there were safety concerns, it would affect the OREGON staff on their own equipment.

These fires are so huge every minute counts. How many firefighting hours were pissed away on these "safety checks"?

So out-of-state fire equipment responding to a massive fire conflagration was delayed. And that delay put more lives in jeopardy. That's the main point. Of course, Snopes chose to prevaricate (as usual.)
