Though Assad regime is a bloody cruel one and with Islamic-Fascist Iran w/ Hezbollah butchers are largely responsible for the 619,000 dead in its genocide. But hypocrite Turkey seems to be acting like phony Qatar in Gaza. Posing as "peacemaker" while inciting for violence.

France 24 - International breaking news, top stories and headlines.

Rebels reach Syria's second city of Aleppo as deadly campaign continues Middle East.
Syrian jihadists and their Turkish-backed allies reached the country's second city of Aleppo on Friday as they pushed ahead with their lightning advance. The rebels have seized more than 50 towns and villages in northern Syria, according to a monitoring group after launching a major offensive against government troops on Wednesday.

After entering Aleppo, Syrian insurgents advance to a nearby province. Assad says he’ll defeat them.
By Sarah El Deeb. December 1, 2024.
[...]
A huge embarrassment for Assad The swift and surprise offensive is a huge embarrassment for Syria’s President Bashar Assad and raises questions about his armed forces’ preparedness. The insurgent offensive launched from their stronghold in the country’s northwest appeared to have been planned for years. It also comes at a time when Assad’s allies were preoccupied with their own conflicts...
The insurgents, led by the Salafi jihadi group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and including Turkey-backed fighters, launched their shock offensive on Wednesday. They first staged a two-pronged attack in Aleppo and the Idlib countryside, entering Aleppo two days later and securing a strategic town that lies on the highway that links Syria’s largest city to the capital and the coast.

So who are these "rebels" associated with? For or against AANES?

(Haven't herd much about PKK/YPG etc. in Free Republic news since the Ukranian conflagration have drawn most of the media reporters' attention the last couple of years.)

It’s a loosely alliance between genuine rebels and jihadists.

The US had nothing to do with Hayat Tahir Al Shams (HTS) is like having nothing to do with the blown up of the North Stream 2?

Recipe for disaster - Syrian style

You take a bloody Muslim Alawite minority dictatorship since about 1968.
You take a horrendous dictatorship who murder any opposition, including Assad brothers and relatives.

You mix that with unnecessary wars declared and carried out on Israel, (1948-present) which they lost.

You mix a little more gassing of civilians in Homs in the 1980’s.

Combine that with internal strife and Turkish interference on Syria’s north-west border.

Add a bit of Al-Nusra/Islamic Jihad/Daish/Hizbollah/Iranian/15 other Jihadist groups/Russian interference and civil war.

Add just a touch of incredible Arab on Arab cruelty topped off with more gas warfare and you get a delicious chaotic, volatile and civil war dessert.

Assad did not want to become the butcher he became, all he wanted to do was practice Ophthalmology in London but his father’s mafia (under Mustafa Tlass) called him back to serve. The rest is a sad history of cruelty that never sees massive marches in London, Paris or Toronto or condemnations. Why is that?

Total coincidence that this happened during the Transition. First was the long-range missiles, now this. What’s next?

My news sources from X (Twitter) are totally gone. About a week ago, I was cut off from X. Long story. I will probably never be back on that platform. (after 15 years) It currently is in a mess with authentication methods. I suspect that is coming from inside the organization, remember the executives who have been in a lawsuit over how they were terminated? They may have friends who stayed, when Musk bought Twitter. Remember, our military used Twitter a lot during those years, as did USAID and the CIA.

I have not had a contact inside Syria in 4+ years. It took me 3-1/2 years to find out what happened to her, not long after ISIS was defeated in Derr Ezzor, she went silent. At the time, nobody there could or would tell me what happened. I finally dug into old in region news sources that I respected, found that my close friend and 2 other YPJ leaders were hit with a Turkish drone. Killed instantly. It happened NE of what is happening now in Allepo.

The Kurds, Syriac Christian forces and a few allies lost 11,000 soldiers during the 7 years I followed it. Now the PKK and remaining Kurds from SDF and a few Ezidi’s will continue to fight them to the end.

About the current situation? My gut tells me this is ISIS at the behest of Erdoo (Erdogan). Erdoo’s ISIS hatchlings have been in Efrin for 4+ years. Turkey protected them and is probably still supplying ISIS (or whatever they are calling themselves now).

And of course Obozo’s dog, O’Biden is clueless and Obozo’s soon to be evicted underlings will have to find another home. The State Department deserves a complete deck wash job. They have not lived in the real world for 30 years. Beyond simple corruption. Pure insanity. Why? Power and Money. Floating on a surface of lies.

So all that I can tell you about the region is simply a guess. It smells like Turkey and ISIS are going to grab NE Syria and the oil field in Derr Ezzor.

Some of our ME “partners” who were in the regional coalition will know what is actually happening. With Trump about to return to the White House, and US is totally unprepared to apply pressure there. Well, that is not exactly so. We still have a naval force near Gaza and Israel.

Thanks. Yes, I had considered Gab as an option. He is Christian and honest. It is a shame that X is no longer open to me, Musk has the globe circled with satellites and is in the only position to command almost all of the globe under one unit.

I fooled with Mastodon yesterday (read that is where Trump's supporters patterned some of his Truth Social). It is running over with flaming lefties. They are a collection of auxiliary pieces networked together. Possibly a few of those platforms might be interesting.

I found the Top Secret addendum to this statement:

“We attempted to brief President Biden on the situation but he kept asking us to point out Syria on a map of Africa. All attempts to persuade him Syria was not in Africa proved unsuccessful.”

Lol.
