I am sure the guy is a POS. That said, sounds like the Portland Christmas tree bomb plot. Guy could not have pulled off a Goodwill donation box heist without being led by the hand by the FBI. I am pretty sure this is the same.

He wasn’t entrapped. He was already gathering materials for making bombs before the FBI even knew about him. In other words, the intent was there, the effort to study and build timed bombs was there, and he had already acquired some of the needed materials before the government made a move.

Entrapment is when you haven’t taken any initiative towards doing people harm and some government agent tries to incite you to take action.
